Goin' down to South Park: Season 15 discussions (contains spoilers)

Howdy all!

Tomorrow evening will be the premier episode of Season 15. They still haven't done a press release for the episode, but there is a short preview clip:

jeff061 04-26-2011 09:05 AM

Ha. Yeah. That's pretty much what you'd expect from the title.

Radii 04-26-2011 11:08 AM

This already feels like a reach to me. We'll see!

molson 04-26-2011 11:11 AM

If it's just a mac satire, that seems a little less than cutting edge (and also, "Simpsons did it"), but if its more human centipede than mac, that would be tremendous. But the preview was funny, either way, I'm looking forward to it.

jeff061 04-26-2011 11:12 AM

Guessing they will mock how horrible the product is but show all the Apple fans loving being a centipede.

cartman 04-26-2011 05:54 PM

The press release:

Quote:

jeff061 04-27-2011 09:46 PM

I was liking where they were going with the EULA but the centipede tie-in was pretty weak.

Radii 04-28-2011 03:04 AM

wow, total whiff. Sad.

Groundhog 04-28-2011 08:10 AM

Yeah, I think that drew 4 semi-laughs from us.

Ksyrup 04-28-2011 08:13 AM

I liked it.

cartman 05-02-2011 12:30 PM

I'm the first to admit that I'm probably not the most non-biased person on this topic, but I thought the episode was solid. Cartman's whining was in rare form, and for once, his mom didn't cave in.

cartman 05-02-2011 12:31 PM

Here's the scoop on this week's episode:

bulletsponge 05-02-2011 02:20 PM

am i the only one whos thinking Osama will make a surprise apperance on the next southpark?

cartman 05-05-2011 07:27 PM

Ok, that was a huge swing and a miss of an episode.

Ksyrup 05-05-2011 07:46 PM

What was the story behind this? Did Tyler Perry get pissed about a comedy award he didn't get or something? I didn't get it.

PackerFanatic 05-05-2011 07:58 PM

Haven't really enjoyed either of the two episodes so far this year. The Token/Tyler Perry stuff was a little amusing, but otherwise meh.

Mustang 05-05-2011 08:02 PM

That was.. brutal.

fpres 05-05-2011 08:12 PM

This season has been disappointing thus far.

pretty much my exact thoughts.

DeToxRox 05-09-2011 12:36 PM

Not a good start to the season but I laughed when I saw this from this past episode:

DeToxRox 05-12-2011 09:02 AM

Awesome episode last night. Between pissed off Mackey, Scott the Giant Racist Canadian and the Wedding traditions I laughed a ton.

Ronnie Dobbs2 05-12-2011 09:11 AM

Biggest WTF episode of South Park I can remember in a while.

cartman 05-12-2011 09:54 PM

Yeah, Mackey as the play director was pure awesome. And the announcer for the wedding was solid.

RedHawk00 05-13-2011 09:50 AM

so disappointed, the first episodes are usually money, they must be just mailing it in this season... wonder if there is some BS behind the scenes going on

cartman 05-16-2011 01:17 PM

I've been wondering this as well. The last three episodes have been horrible.

DeToxRox 05-18-2011 09:26 PM

Amazing episode tonight.

RedHawk00 05-19-2011 05:57 PM

well done, best this season (not saying much there...) but so true, still not sure what my Yaw is?

cartman 05-19-2011 07:43 PM

Just saw it. Yeah, that was pretty awesome. First time in a while Randy was featured, and the role didn't disappoint.

bulletsponge 05-20-2011 02:28 PM

My YAW says 13 inches

cartman 05-23-2011 10:53 PM

jeff061 05-30-2011 02:45 PM

I don't think I've ever seen a Butters episode I didn't enjoy.

DeToxRox 06-02-2011 11:22 AM

Another awesome episode last night.

Ksyrup 06-02-2011 12:35 PM

That was an odd episode - I can't say I didn't like it, but I hardly laughed.

Doug5984 06-02-2011 01:12 PM

I laughed a lot last night- not an instant classic, but it was funny

RedHawk00 06-03-2011 10:07 AM

i have to admit i didnt see the dr. as the city wok guy coming, good twist at the end... but agree with Ksyrup, didnt have a lot of gut busting laughs

Bad-example 06-07-2011 07:37 AM

Not many laughs in this half-season. Starting to wonder if they are putting out crap on purpose as an exit strategy.

Bad-example 06-08-2011 09:44 PM

That almost seemed like a series finale.

DeToxRox 06-08-2011 11:51 PM

Really enjoyed tonight's episode. It didn't have a lot of big laughs but it was amazingly well done. I fully expect for them to start off the second half of the season as if nothing happened, as they addressed in the episode.

cartman 06-09-2011 05:20 PM

Last night's episode and the Crack Babies Athletic Association one are some of their best work at social satire.

Yeah, I'll agree w/ that. I haven't read any reviews or anything, but I wonder if that episode is just general commentary or a specific response to the idea that this season has kinda sucked so far and they are saying it doesn't really suck but we're all just too old to enjoy it anymore :P

Pyser 06-10-2011 01:11 AM

I really think we just saw them quit the show.

They wouldn't come up with a better episode to end on. I think it's pretty clear they admitted they are too old to do this anymore.

kurtism 06-10-2011 07:25 AM

Maybe I am reading too much into this, but by the end it seemed clear to me that Stan seeing everything as shit was almost totally the consequence of him living through his parents crumbling marriage and subsequent separation.

This is not to say that they didn't flex their standard broad satire muscles to blast a lot of the utter crap that is out there. The movie previews alone were gold.

Didn't I see an interview once where the creators said that Stan and Kyle were basically their alter egos? I wonder if they are breaking up their partnership.

Ksyrup 06-10-2011 01:01 PM

That was my unauthorized biography.

Pyser 07-20-2011 06:05 PM

i guess the episode was just a ploy for more money

south park just resigned for 2 more seasons. will run through 2013 now

shame. that episode was such a great way to go out
