National Jukebox at Library of Congress

The LOC has cut a deal with Sony and has put over 10,000 old recordings from the first quarter of the 20th century online on a streaming basis. Really cool stuff here, from classical and popular music, to speeches, sermons, and more. Definitely worth a look for those interested in this kind of stuff, and all from those early Victrola records.

I find it sad that songs from 100 years ago are under copyright to a company that's only 65 years old.

Will the Jukebox get hacked and all of America's credit card info will be out there?

Give it time.

Pretty interesting. I was looking around and noticed a lot of Italian recordings were made in Camden, New Jersey (of all places). Turns out, Camden was the headquarters of Victor Talking Machine Company (later sold to RCA) and had one of the first recording studios, so a lot of opera singers recorded there.
