Graph Drawing Software Suggestions

I'm taking a statistics course and will have to be producing a lot of simple graphs (pie charts, histograms, bar graphs, etc) for homework. I'd rather not have to bust out the ruler and pencils. What are there out there for simple options for drawing graphs on the computer to be printed out?

Excel, and student versions are cheap. Or OpenOffice if you want free.

GnuPlot if you want free and lots of manual labor...

I've got an older version of Excel, as well as Open Office. I've never looked into their graphing functions. do they generate the graph automatically or allow you to draw it?

Excel will generate a graph based on your data input
