New owners who haven't checked in yet. Here's the file for you to keep up with the rest of us. New file is up now. 1st half of the season will be simmed on Sunday.
|
Also, name your teams if you haven't already. Hehe...
|
hey DC, if you get a chance can you change my cap main color to white and the bill/brim to match the blue in my uniform? I intended it to be that way but must've mixed the color coding up when I created the logo and jersey.
Not a big deal, just when you get a chance. thank you sir! |
I'll make that happen now.
Also, New England Colonials have become the Pennsylvania Paladins thanks to their new owner, TomJ. I put an owner list of the human owners up top. |

how are we handling these minor league contacts with major league options? They have to be on your 25 man major league roster since there isn't a 40 man roster?
|
Quote:
I'll just add a 40-man roster. I think I just forgot about it. |
Minor league rosters are 25-man except for A-ball which is 35.
|
Montreal will become the Carolina Kings.
|
Ok, about to run this thing in the next hour or so.
|
The beauty of the split season is that for those of you who didn't get exports in (just two teams), we'll have a whole second half for you to get things in order. This first season will just get us off the ground anyway.
Memphis (Eddie has not checked in yet), Chicago, Windsor and Tacoma are the only AI teams left, fwiw. Here we go. |
Teams that had list minute bids that didn't consumate before the start of the season will have those players revert to the minors until the split-season break. Seems that was only AI teams except in one case (San Diego) which I was alerted to beforehand.

Doing a monthly backup in May. The game froze for a bit when I tried to sim to June and it made me nervous that I'd lost stuff. With that being said, how about those Blue Ribbons, eh? Man...the Fathers have risen to the top too. Should be an interesting month

STANDINGS AS OF JUNE 24, 1838
Code:
Nationwide League Standings San Diego and Milwaukee claim their respective leagues 1st half championships! File will be prepped for sending. Draft lists will be due Wednesday, so that we can do the draft. If you would like to sign a player in the FA pool for your MAJOR LEAGUE ROSTER for the 2nd half, we're going to do those by public auction, because the game will take too long to consummate the deals. We'll sim the draft, process trades and FA signings on Thursday and the 2nd half deadline will be Friday morning. The idea being we can sim the postseason on Sunday night and get this 1st season done before the holiday. Oh also, the schedule because of where the draft is sims 4-5 games into the 2nd half. Nothing I could do about that using a custom schedule since I didn't know exactly what day things would fall. Next year, it should be easier to guesstimate. |
Quote:
Hell yeah! Nice way to kick things off. Also, I think the mid season auction could be fun. Congrats to San Diego! |
Yeah, I think it'll be a neat twist to things borne out of practicality.
File should be up in-game. I included all box scores, logs and replays. File wasn't too huge, so that seems to be okay. Let me know if you all get it. |
Also, for those not familiar with split season schedules...the deal is that if for some reason the team that wins the 1st half, also wins the 2nd, then the team with the 2nd best overall record in the league claims the wild card and plays them in the LCS. Soo...the strategy involved in 2nd half planning in fast-sim ought to be interesting since two teams have already punched their playoff tickets no matter what happens.

1838 ALL-STAR TEAMS
Here are the all-star teams for the first SLOP season!

Anaheim Amigos become Phoenix Firebirds
JTSMOOTH has renamed the Anaheim Amigos, the Phoenix Firebirds. I've made the change in-game and will upload a new file that will contain the new logo, etc. For game purposes, the players and team archive will reflect the new name so long as it's done before the end of the off-season. So, that's why the mid-season name change is okay.
|
Deadline for exports is tomorrow morning at 10am eastern time. We'll run the draft, you'll get a new file and then the deadline for the regular season 2nd half is Friday morning.
|
Quote:
Nice. Goin' local old school! I remember going to their games back in the day. Think we even snuck into a game one time! You using the old logo I made for our old league, JT, or the actual logo that the real Firebirds used? |
Quote:
As much as I love wheelin' and dealin', I don't want to disrupt the chemistry I seem to have going with this group. Furthermore, I'm not familiar enough with my roster to dump a player or take a chance on anyone else's just yet. haha |
Getting ready to sim the draft file and move auction FAs around.
|
Post-draft file is up. Last chance to make changes to your roster before the 2nd half is tomorrow morning. Trade deadline has passed and no more FAs can be signed until off-season. HTML going up now.
|
Just the old Firebirds logo, bringing back the birds.

Get those 2nd half exports in, folks. Simming in an hour or so.
|
Quote:
I wasn't able to get an export in last night and am already at work this morning. I wasn't planning on making any changes to my big league roster anyhow, but it would have been nice to setup my minor league system after the draft. whoops! |
Busy this morning. Just going to report the leaders after each month and then upload the file for the 2nd half.
|

File is up. Deadline for post-season exports is tomorrow evening, so we can run the post-season sim on Sunday.
|
I knew that not improving for the second half was a roll of the dice. Still though, we won 102 games and have a spot in the inaugural playoffs secured.
I wanted Kevin 'Spoon' Smith but didn't want to get too involved in the first bidding war. Hopefully my decision to stand pat doesn't come back to bite me in the end! Congrats to the other playoff teams. |
Player Report for #28 Kevin 'Spoon' Smith
It doesn't seem like you missed much. He certainly didn't perform to the level that he was commanding in salary. Still a young guy and probably needs a bit more seasoning. |
Quote:
I knew he wouldn't come right in and be a game changer so I stopped bidding after a few teams were in the mix. I could have made some bids in other positions / areas, but decided that if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Hoping everything holds up for the playoffs! |
