Real Life Rudy finally gets exposed to everyone as a POS

I am not sure how many people have heard the horror stories of Rudy, but this guy is a piece of shit and he is about to pay dearly for it:

"Rudy" charged in investor scheme - wsbt.com

Daniel Ruettiger, known as the inspiration for the 1993 film “Rudy” about a man chasing his dreams of playing football for the University of Notre Dame, Has been charged by the Securities and Exchange Commission in a scheme to deceive investors into buying stock in his sports drink company.

At first glance I thought that was a picture of Jarrod from Subway.

Danny 12-16-2011 02:52 PM

That's not the real Rudy. This Rudy will never let me down.

I smell a sequel!

Detox's thread title sounds like an Onion Headline. :)

Just goes to show you, that you can't trust those Fighting Irish.

My dad had several dealings with the guy through business years back and always thought he was sketchy. So this is nice to see that my dad's gut was right.

CraigSca 12-16-2011 03:29 PM

Anything else your Dad's gut was right about? I'm looking for some long-term investment advice.

Don't eat the Swedish meatballs. That was another of its findings.

Frodo felt the same way apparently.

At least he wasn't caught raping a ten-year-old in the bathroom...

Robin Hood-2?

Glengoyne 12-17-2011 11:12 AM

POS?

Come on, he didn't admit any guilt. He just coughed up close to $400 k.

GrantDawg 12-17-2011 03:27 PM

And the GT O-line still can't block him. :)

Anyone who gets involved in the insipid world of "sports drinks" deserves whatever is coming to them, mostly because of their lack of imagination.

I've known this since the movie came out. Dan Devine was the AD at Mizzou when the movie came out and he was very hurt by the film. Devine wasn't a bad guy at all, and Rudy did nothing to defend Devine's honor when the movie made him into one. Everyone involved has acknowledged that the ending where Devine wasn't going to let Rudy play was false.

At least Coach Devine had a great line about it. When asked what he thought of that scene he said, "Any player of mine who gave me his jersey sure wouldn't get it back."
