Bitch about how crappy 2011 was here!

#(*&#% off 2011 and don't come back!

This was probably one of the worst years I've ever had all the way around.

BillJasper 12-31-2011 07:33 AM

I'm still alive... so I'll count it as a win.

sabotai 12-31-2011 09:58 AM

This year certainly did suck.

Here's to another lousy year....

Matthean 12-31-2011 10:39 AM

It was hopefully the end of a miserable two year run. Between prosecuting a friend I have known for over a decade to a job loss, things are slowly being put back together.

Comey 12-31-2011 11:03 AM

Going into late November, I would have totally agreed with you. The first 10.5 months of this year were horrific. It has turned around since then, almost a complete 180.

britrock88 12-31-2011 01:07 PM

I got the ole just-before-Christmas dump from my GF of 4+ years. That's fun.

Grover 12-31-2011 01:55 PM

Lost my job in March, had to move back in with my parents, girlfriend broke up with me in September... 2012 will be much, much better.

sabotai 12-31-2011 02:20 PM

A nice little punctuation mark at the end of this crappy year.

I just checked my hair situation. I've been thinning up top for awhile, and the last time I checked I had a tiny bald spot near the top-back area. Don't remember when that was, but just check it now....it looks like someone went scorched earth on it. Big giant bald spot.....

Jan 1st, 2012 - Sabotai says goodbye to having hair. Time to start buzzing the old noggin routinely.

Yep. I'll be joining that club myself shortly. :D

Suicane75 12-31-2011 03:57 PM

I lost my skidmark streak this year. Over a decade. Fuck 2011.

Radii 12-31-2011 04:04 PM

My dad's health declined massively during the second half of this year, mom hasn't handled it particularly well and its a pretty rough situation all the way around.

Very recently I fell for a close female friend and got a pretty crushing rejection out of that, so that's a nice fuckup on my part. It should be nothing compared to family issues but its a pretty fresh wound.

Hopes for 2012 seem pretty grim right now, but the past couple weeks have been especially overwhelming, putting a little distance on things will presumably help with that.

This year sucked for you because you have clean underwear?

Perhaps the opposite. Reminds me of a certain illness I had while on vacation this May, no less.

Izulde 12-31-2011 06:13 PM

2011 wasn't a great year. Battled depression for most of it and writing hasn't been going well. Parents aren't doing well health-wise either and neither is my grandmother. Zero romantic prospects and yeah.

On the bright side, I've pretty much zeroed in on where to I want to go for my international abroad requirement (Basque region of Spain in summer 2012) and what I want my ultimate degree (the one I have after my MFA) and career path to be if I can't make a living with my fiction, which is looking less and less likely.

Izulde 12-31-2011 06:14 PM

dola, one of the great things that happened though was that I finally won my first multi-player league title and in the toughest DDSPB league around.

MrBug708 12-31-2011 06:19 PM

Wasnt a bad year as I managed to get two teaching credentials, finished my masters (though degree wont be awarded til 2012), and got engaged

You fail at this thread

MrBug708 12-31-2011 06:33 PM

UCLA football and basketball sucks

HeavyReign 12-31-2011 07:05 PM

Pretty much hated this year and glad to see it go. Special thanks go out to the DOJ for shutting down online poker.

JPhillips 12-31-2011 07:06 PM

Two colleagues died tragically and a student died of leukemia. Hopefully 2012 will be better.

Senator 12-31-2011 08:43 PM

brain tumor but luckily I am smart so maybe I will have some left when they start chopping.

jeezus man!!!

Simbo Klice 12-31-2011 11:32 PM

I kept my job for the whole year. :banghead:

MacroGuru 01-01-2012 12:02 AM

Lost my job in July (Turned it into something positive)

Lost my sister in November, 4 days before my Birthday....She was basically my oldest daughter, and it hit home on health. She died of a stroke at the age of 33.

M GO BLUE!!! 01-01-2012 01:34 AM

Can't say 2011 sucked so much as it was one of change. Quit 2 jobs in NYC, moved back home to mom's outside of Detroit. Got 2 more jobs that are nothing special (particularly in the area of $$$$) and bought a fixer-upper condo in Detroit.

I am home & working on getting life together before I hit 40.

2012 might just suck for that reason alone.

JediKooter 01-03-2012 11:24 AM

Well, can't say mine was the worst or the best the last year, but, to those who had a crappy 2011, I hope that 2012 will be awesome for you. :)

bbor 01-03-2012 01:49 PM

My wife left me in November after 16 years together....i'm still crushed....but i'm blaming 2011 and 2012...so hopefully 2013 will be good for me.

JediKooter 01-03-2012 01:58 PM

Damn. Sorry to hear that bbor. The good news is, look at all the women you get to have sex with now. :D

sterlingice 01-03-2012 02:28 PM

Got to spend the better part of the year living in a different city than my wife and I don't have any quick prospects to change that. If you take that out of the equation, it's more good than bad but it's hard to take that out of the equation.

SI

Dude, I know how that is...sorry to hear about it, if you need someone to talk to or anything, I am here for ya...I just went through it about a year 1/2 ago...

GrantDawg 01-03-2012 05:23 PM

Spent from February on dealing with a neck problem on workers comp. Been a regular nightmare, ending in surgery, that has not improved the problem very much. Yeah, wasn't a great year with another nightmare one ahead. *sigh*

Noop 01-03-2012 07:45 PM

2011 wasn't bad. My one complaint is about my contracts professor who is a complete punk. I have never meet someone who was so petty and jealous before in my life. Not only did this jackass give the hardest final known to man, he gave me a bump down (for participation). So yeah he has ruined an otherwise chill break due to his bitchassness.
