PC Help Please, kthanks

Over the weekend, I grabbed The Greatest Cape. The Demo had worked, I d/led the purchased version, but it wouldn't do anything. After trying several things, tonight, it was recommended that I put my PC into Safe Mode with Internet Connection and try it. I did that, and this time, I got an error when trying out the game.

"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005)"

This was brand new, so I thought we had advanced. I restart my PC and decide to hit up TCY and try to restart my career, after the save game no longer worked. This time, TCY failed with this error. It was working roughly an hour before I restarted and moved into Safe Mode and then came back. I try loading other games.

Football Manager 2011
FOF- 2001
FOF - TCY
Super Hero - The Greatest Cape

These are the only four games breaking. So I reinstall Music Wars Rebirth that I removed after buying and purchasing a while again on a supposition. I was right, it also does not work, same error. All of the other games work.

I uninstall TCY and reinstall it somewhere else. No help, same issue. FM 2001 was purchased from gamersgate and d/ed. Other games from there, Sengoku, EU3, work.

I searched for the error, and all of the hits I'm getting are about viruses and malware and all of the programs with that error, but for me its just these five. Just in case, I searched with several malware and virus locators and found only a few small malware things and no viruses at all.

So, in summary, on my Vista machine, these five games get this error, and nothing else does. elicinse? ViaTech? Something else? How can I get these games to work again?

Help please.

Elicense error

probably runservice.exe is not executing correctly in safe mode.

it may not be runservice but I'm definitely betting on it being an elicense issue with the computer

Edit: or maybe not, see below

found this after a quick search:

When I try to load the game I get: The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate application.

Disable your DEP (Data Execution Prevention):

1. Right-click on "My Computer"
2. Select "Properties"
3. Click on the "Advanced" Tab.
4. Click on the Performance "Settings" Button
5. Click on the "Data Execution Prevention" Tab
6. Select the "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only"

Well, actually, FM 2011 is still not working, but now it's giving me a different error. Everything else is. So we'll try to figure it out later.

Thanks!

no worries :) glad it fixed most of them. After reading some more it was DEP preventing runservice.exe to start. runservice is the Elicense lic control service.

Thanks for this, but for some reason my pc always says I have to be the administrator, despite me always changing stuff to me being the administrator and never, not being the administrator, this becomes increasingly frustrating...and is probably why I have never been able to get this game to work on my laptop... PLEASE tell me there is an ultra awesome easy way to fix this? Thanks in advance
