IWS #186--RESULTS
 

This was a fun one to run and I think it was a good concept, though I think maybe not the best execution. As the results show, we ended up having three questions that were pretty close two way battles, with no other real contenders. I would have rather had more of a spread, but that's the way it goes. But with 52 participants IWS is strong.

I started reading the answers, and I was like ,awesome, I probably won. I got top answer for every question save one where I was only two back. That easily wins most IWSs. Then someone got a perfect score, and two others were two back and perfect otherwise. Ah well. Good game all!

I had a good feeling about this one. This will be a tough chore to follow, as I said in the original posting, I thought this was an awesome idea. Will try to work on something over the weekend.

I had Welker and Football intead of curling otherwise perfect, ah well! Good job stupid-head!

I usually have at least *some* instinct about IWS questions, and I kind of like being totally baffled (even when it sinks an otherwise perfect entry).

The "other Giant" question for me was a stone wall, I had no real theory on whom it ought to be, and even now that I see what Stupid said, I still don't get it, why Cruz in a soft runaway? I completely expected a scattershot of Bradshaw, Nicks, Cruz, Pierre-Paul and Tuck.

Perhaps I'm missing some cultural reference that makes Cruz stand out from that group? (I don't get the salsa reference either, so that's likely) It is just that he was a notable out-of-nowhere guy who posted a big season this year?

Precisely. He was an undrafted kid from UMass who is a Jersey native. Earns his spot during the preseason and becomes breakout reciever for them. Celebrates by doing a salsa dance after every touchdown.

I must say I was rather impressed with stupid in this one. I would have never guessed stupid for actually knowing what curling is and somewhat surprised he/she chose Gronk and Cruz. I was under the impression stupid was usually a few years behind current form.

I think the salsa thing was a reference to a tv station having him salsa during Media Day

I was going to say Football. But then thought stupid would say Baseball because stupid would know that there is baseball in canada more than football and that stupid would be confused by football vs soccer even though there IS canadian football but it's less known.

And the giants and patriots...ugh...I just went for the biggest running back on each team that I could find. I really knew nothing about either team :(

I had Welker and OOTP. I considered Gronk because he was in the news so much but choose Welker. And well there had just been the OOTP announcement...

Your entries were among the earlier ones, so it was fun to watch you flip flop in the lead as Welker and Gronk votes came in. Then FM stormed back at the end and Logan (one of the later entries) prevailed.

I was thisclose to going OOTP over FM, which would have tied that question and I'm guessing tied the game a few ways.

I forgot to enter this... even after I had looked at the question and thought of the answers I would send in. I had 5 of the 6 nailed, but I would've said "FBCB" for the final question. So I don't feel so bad now.

Curling is the best thing about the winter olympics.

I'm very surprised that only 1 entry went with the "exception" entry. I figured there would be a few more rebels than that.

I had Nicks (on my Fantasy teams) and Voldemort which did me in.

Well run, digamma. Now I'm just excited to get back in on the guessing.

I didn't even think to go with FM since it's had the 2D and 3D engine for years. I don't consider that to be a classic text sim.

I'm impressed with stupid's knowledge of the Giants. I looked at the media at it was all Eli and Tom Coughlin.

I went with the coaches in the team questions since I figured there was so much fellating of them prior to the game stupid would go with them.

I knew I should have gone with Yahoo, Bing was the spoiler for my otherwise perfect entry. The Cruz runaway surprised me too, though, I figured it would be a three-way battle between Bradshaw, Nicks and Cruz.

Wow, I had hoped that others would realize there are no wrong answers in IWS and there was already an answer given in each question. I guessed wrong. Stupid knows rules are for suckas!
