So, my 14 year old son noticed all the time I've been spending on Hattrick lately, and I decided to set him up with a squad.

Naturally, the Hattrick gods managed to figure out we logged in from the same IP or something, and have fined me $75,000 for the attempt.

Ouch.:(

Did you try e-mailing to tell them the circumstances?

Well, I understand the need to curb cheating, although I kind of figured they'd wait to fine people until after something suspicious had been done (i.e. - my son paying 200k for the weak keeper I just pulled, etc.)

Yeah, I sent them e-mail. No response yet.

at my work, we all have the same ip, there are 3 teams from it. we play friendlies on occasion, once so far, but absolutely no transfer activity between each other, even at market price.

Well, like I said, I'd like to see if they could cut me a break... $75K is a LOT... and I'm sure I'd be watched like a hawk for any suspicious activity.

I'd HT-Mail one of the GM's. My girlfriend & I log in from the same IP & even have made some transfers (at market price) & we haven't been fined... *knock on wood*

$75k is a small fine considering your son paid $200k for a weak keeper.

I don't think his son did that, lytic. I think he was using that as an example of a Stupid Idea (tm).

yeah, I think he was asking the GM to wait until his son had done something very wrong LIKE paying 200K for blah blah...

(same here: at least I hope ;) )

My brother and I both have teams. So far, I dont guess there have been any complaints because we both log on from same IP most of the time.

There was a thread about this on the USA conference, iirc. Two GM's came out saying it was fine as long as you didn't transfer, so I would definitely appeal to GM-George.

I've sent the appeal... pending review, I suppose...

Well....my father and i got warned for it from GM-George...He bought a passable keeper and a passable scorer...i gave him advice on his team and he needed a keeper and a forward so he bought mine...explained my situation to him, and he said it was cool...we talked about Ardent as they are friends, talked about fof, then parted ways....try sending to him...he was very helpful!

I'm finally off the Percocet... maybe my reading eyes and brain will come back soon...

As for same IPs, my wife and I play, in fact I just beat her in OT in my last cup match. As long as there is no transfer going on then it's okay.

IN FACT, it's okay to transfer a player with GM approval. I'd just rather not even go down that path...

oh and my appoligies for my post... like I said I had surgery on my Achillies Tendon and I've been loopy on Percocet.

GM-George and I are friends, we email each other. I have a rematch promised, one day I'll take it. I'll have to get eliminated from the US Open Cup and the FOFC Cup first!
