Race #1 - Evergreen 250 Results
Nick Phillips Jr. dominated early on with almost no challenges from the rest of the field. But slowly his car faded and Lew Sifford and Johnny Sanders took over as the dominant cars. On a restart with only 8 laps left Sanders lost the lead and faded to 4th. Sifford held off a challenge from Cassandra Snow to win the first ever Late Model Young Guns race.

3rd and 6th for the Duke boys! Nice start to the short track season.
|
Way to go Cassandra! Woohoo. We gotta get working on that qualifying ability!
|
1st and 5th is a pretty good showing for Ninth Circle.
|
Woot! Nicholas did well! The Thomas boys had a successful first week!
|
16c struggling here as well, I suspect this year will be a big learning curve for us.

I'm trying to decide which I prefer -- leading 28 laps and having a mechanical failure or simply finishing in the last half of the pack? |
The 2nd Late Model race will be up Sunday.

Woohoo! Go Pharaoh!!!!
Doug is going to be upset - he can't seem to finish a race. |
Just noticed - must have been a crazy race, only two on the lead lap!
|
Next late model race is tomorrow.

Lew Sifford sends a "thank you" to Vance Duke for that 6th lap spin-out.

That's what happens when you drive a slow car. Learn to get out of the way! Of course, ours didn't hold together well enough to finish the race either, but Coy's finish clearly shows our car is fast. |
Tough luck for Derrick Pace as Berlin only has 21 cars on the track and we have 22. Pace was the unlucky one who didn't qualify.

For the rest of this season we are adding something new. This will also help tie in the Late Model Series with the Cup Series. Every race starting with Martinsville on two drivers from the Late Model Series will be allowed to enter into the Cup Series. You will be able to take your Late Model driver and change his stats to whatever you wish, pick a car, and enter him into the race you would like. First come first serve on what races the drivers are entered into. You can only sign up for two races currently though.
The only catch is when making the stats, instead of 200 points on the driver stat portion you will only have 170 and for the car stats you will have 45 instead of 60. Sign up in the Cup thread and then pm your stats and car possibilities. These drivers are not eligible for the Chase. Current Late Model Entries: Martinsville #55 Derrick Pace Indianapolis Myrtle Beach Watkins Glen Piggzcreek Boston Pharaoh Moore Las Vegas Atlanta Daytona #55 Derrick Pace Pocono Pharaoh Moore Bristol Texas Homestead |
Pharaoh will do Pocono and Boston.
|
Johnny is only 5 points back of Nick. Hopefully Manhattan treats us well. He's also going to enter the Indy 500, a big step up for him.
|
The next race will be up tomorrow.
|
Race #4 - Big Apple 250
Fresh off his first entry into the Cup Series Derrick Pace used the lessons learned and won the Big Apple 250 at Manhattan Raceway Stadium. Nick Phillips Jr. continues to lead the points.

Great... led the most laps and go out in an accident.
|
Vance ran well and lead or 48 laps, wish he would have finished a little stonger. Coy was knocked out by someone else's foolish accidident. All in all Dixieland is mid pack. I think that the cars are strong enough to pull us into the upper part of the pack.
|
Race #5 - Kentucky 200
It was a good day for Coy Duke has he took the pole, led 69 of the 133 laps and took the win. Matthew Schnieder started 2nd, led 64 laps and finished 3rd. Duke and Schneider were the only two drivers to lead laps. Johnny Sanders' 2nd place finish puts him first in the points.

Dixieland grabs the first win of the year in the young guns series! Now, let's get 2 in the top 5!
|
Race #6 - Daytona 200 Results
After starting dead last in the field, Valdemar Nielsen picked his way through the pack and overtook Hana Corperial with 11 laps remaining and held off challenges from Pharaoh Moore and Nicholas Thomas to take the win at Daytona as the short track drivers venture to a superspeedway for a one night. After leading 51 of the first 69 laps, Corperial was passed by Nielsen and got stuck on the outside lane, falling to an 18th place finish.
Pharaoh Moore is the new points leader while Johnny Sanders drops to 2nd. Cassandra Snow, Coy Duke and Nick Phillips Jr. round out the top 5. ![]() |
Consistent Cassie ;)
|
This series is going much better for 16c than the other series. Pharaoh pulling ahead in the points race just past the 1/2 way mark of the season is great news!
|
Valdemar!
|
Ugh, my rookie not looking too promising, even after winning the pole here he collapses.

Johnny's strength definitely isn't superspeedways and now he's fallen back to 2nd in the points. 4 races left to take back the lead.
|
Race #7 - FOFC 100 at Watkins Glen
After a rough season so far Billy Bushinhimer found his stride and dominated the race at Watkins Glen today leading 52 of 60 laps.
Pharaoh Moore keeps the points lead followed by Johnny Sanders and Nick Phillips Jr. ![]() |
Still going to finish this one out?
|
