It's a real issue that affects more than just a handful of criminal Mexicans and American scumbags. I have a close friend that made some really bad choices when he was young and his life is pretty much fucked because of the drug war. I am not asking anyone to cry a bunch of tears for the guy he made the bad choices but what are we accomplishing here? It isn't working and if the plan is to keep on doing what they are doing now it never will. I’ll admit the stoner jokes are funny and there definitely is a group of people who want drugs legal just because it’s fun to get high. But man I really wish a sitting president who says “The Wire” is his favorite show of all time would actually do something about the drug war. Maybe a lame duck term would be the best thing ever for the prospect of some sense with our federal war on drugs.

Yeah. Alcohol too. Let's ban alcohol...it's only legal because it's fun to get buzzed/drunk!

I thought it was because it generates so much tax and fee/penalty revenue.
