Nearby super-Earth is probably 1/3 diamond

YaleNews | Nearby super-Earth likely a diamond planet

Makes those engagement rings look kinda chintzy, no?

Stuff like this is my one regret that we can't live longer. I'm hoping that we get all the answers after we pass away. I want to see what the hell the rest of the universe looks like.

molson 10-11-2012 10:49 AM

And so will begin the definitive account of the great intergalactic war of 2348.

JediKooter 10-11-2012 10:57 AM

Can I put it on layaway?

molson 10-11-2012 10:59 AM

Anybody want to go into business selling real estate on this place? We can probably get the website up and running by this afternoon. I just need a color printer for the deeds, or maybe I'lll just get those at Kinko's.

scorp 10-11-2012 11:04 AM

cool stuff,
Yeah I wish we could live longer, be really cool to see Andromeda in about 2.8 million years when is really close to the collision with the Milky way. Would have to be an awesome site in the night sky.

Eh... if it were possible to live there then the price of a diamond would be about what we pay for a handfull of dirt. On the other hand, a glass of water would be worth quite a bit!

I'm kindof thinking like how people in Maine talk about lobster

I will. There's a lot of stupid people out there who would actually pay too I'm sure.

I'm not kidding.

Like it's no big deal because they're everywhere. If you need to hold open a door for a second, you probably just grab a big lobster to put there. And you probably use them as paperweights. In years when building material is expensive, you just use lobster instead.

sterlingice 10-11-2012 04:01 PM

Exactly! Like molson said!

Don't want unless it's at least an F in color.

Kodos 05-15-2014 11:33 AM

No idea what you're talking about -- gonna need your mancard!
