NFL Week 9 thread

Report -- Pittsburgh Steelers can't find hotel, to travel Sunday for game at New York Giants - ESPN

We all know how big a Giants fan I am, but I think this is absurd.

Sun Tzu 11-01-2012 05:18 PM

G-Men!

MizzouCowboy 11-01-2012 05:28 PM

I find it fascinating that the Chiefs have not been in the lead for 1 second of regulation this season. Believe I read somewhere that it's been 70 years since that has happened.

Norv Turner will cure them of what ails them.

We have the thread winner right here. Never underestimate what Norv can do.

Aqib Talib traded to New England Patriots by Tampa Bay Buccaneers - ESPN Boston

Patriots get cb Aqib Talib from TB. Apparently he's tall which is something.

Lathum 11-01-2012 08:36 PM

the Chiefs are really bad

Lathum 11-01-2012 08:42 PM

LOL @ Phillip Rivers

Big Fo 11-01-2012 08:43 PM

You know it's a bad pass by Rivers when it causes the team to get booed off the field at halftime even though they're up a touchdown.

cuervo72 11-01-2012 09:04 PM

So what was that...a review w/o SD having to ask for a review?

BillJasper 11-02-2012 12:02 AM

Norv lives to coach another week!

Julio Riddols 11-02-2012 12:29 AM

I wonder if Norv dressed as a zombie on halloween.

What's absurd about it? It doesn't seem like they have any other good options.

I'm going to go ahead and post it here so that I can look silly in 2 days... But I think my Titans have a pretty good chance of beating the Bears this weekend.

I certainly hope so!

Postponing the game til Tuesday? Moving it to Philly?

I guess those things are absurd, but the article doesn't mention them. Are those ideas being considered or something?

stevew 11-02-2012 12:23 PM

Those were just 2 quick options off the top of my head better than "no hotel-LOL U"

Kick some kids out of a dorm if you have to.

molson 11-02-2012 12:28 PM

It's not like there's zero hotels in the NYC metropolitan area with power, they just figured it'd be impolite to try arrange accommodations with any of them.

"Before we looked for another one (hotel), we decided we just didn't feel right about asking employees at any of the hotels down there to start making a bunch of extra efforts to accommodate us, when so many of them are having issues themselves," a senior Steelers official told ESPN's Rachel Nichols.

Not sure why they just couldn't stay in southern CT or north, more inland Jersey. I don't think it'd be impolite to offer any hotels there their business.

spleen1015 11-02-2012 12:52 PM

They should just move the game to Pittsburgh. The Giants lose a home game, but that didn't stop the NFL from moving a NO home game to NY after Katrina.

JediKooter 11-02-2012 02:04 PM

F you Norv...F you.

bronconick 11-02-2012 02:35 PM

Minnesota had their home game in Detroit a couple years ago too.

They weren't playing Detroit though.

Sean Payton deal with New Orleans Saints voided by NFL, sources say - ESPN

Sunday NFL Countdown has taken a major nosedive this year. Fox has been un-watchable since...well...forever. ESPN used to put some half-way decent programming on Sunday mornings, but now it's just 2+ hours of filler, and 1 hour of Giants/Jets coverage.

You have a serious hard on for the Giants, did Hakeem Nicks fuck you sister or something?

Leroy Veritas 11-04-2012 11:39 AM

Unfortunately the Redskins chance of beating the Panthers took a hit when MeAngelo Hall was only fined and not suspended for being a petulant 2-year-old last week.

Yes.

Sun Tzu 11-04-2012 12:05 PM

Who smeared dookie all over the Redskins helmets?

kingfc22 11-04-2012 12:09 PM

There might be a new sack record set in the ARZ/GB game.

Those o-lines are brutal.

BillJasper 11-04-2012 12:24 PM

Those Redskin throwbacks are slick.

Sun Tzu 11-04-2012 12:29 PM

Cobb for the TD. FF waiver pickup...wewt.

MizzouCowboy 11-04-2012 12:30 PM

Remember when Patrick Peterson was Patrick Peterson?

I remember him being a below-average to average CB, and a great return man.

Leroy Veritas 11-04-2012 12:36 PM

Refs blow the whistle saying D'Angelo Williams is out of bounds. Redskins defense stops on the whistle. Williams runs to the end zone anyways. Refs convene and call the play a TD.

How many people called Dolphins and Colts meeting in week 9 with both having winning records?

Simbo Klice 11-04-2012 12:50 PM

How bout that "feel like Titans might beat the Bears" pick? The Bears should just punt to us, their fucking punt return and defense would beat us.

larrymcg421 11-04-2012 12:51 PM

Bears have 38 total yards and 21 points in the 1st quarter.

Yep, if someone else had not commented on it by now I figured 28-2 was time to bring it up.

I just hope the Bears don't decide to break their own record for largest margin of victory, because I'm pretty sure they could.

Sun Tzu 11-04-2012 01:03 PM

Looking forward to seeing the Bears get man-handled by the 49ers on MNF in two weeks.

cuervo72 11-04-2012 01:04 PM

They didn't score, but man do I applaud Shanahan for repeatedly going for it on 4th down.

Radii 11-04-2012 01:05 PM

Washington converts two fourth downs on the same drive against Carolina, gets down to the Carolina 1, goes for it on 4th and goal, but can't convert that one, no points, but Carolina pinned quite deep.

Great run by Bush puts Dolphins up 17-10.
