How did this round not last until the week of Thanksgiving?

Butter 11-08-2012 01:54 PM

5 pies? Jesus Christ.

stevew 11-08-2012 01:56 PM

fuckin' A!

Pyser 11-08-2012 02:11 PM

damnit. 5 pies just seemed like too many, and $20 per person just seemed too cheap

still a good 2nd place showing though

great questions!

Lathum 11-08-2012 02:40 PM

Wow. my worst showing in a while. Must be because I am a vegaterian.

MIJB#19 11-08-2012 02:44 PM

That was quick, didn't even have a chance to play and end up last! :(

I totally read that question wrong. Got the stupid answer, but still read it wrong. Would have said 2 based on real life.

Julio Riddols 11-08-2012 04:05 PM

I knew that woman was way off.. I would have nailed every single question this go around. Gonna rub it in her face when she gets off work. I'm gonna consider myself with stupid.

LOL! I agree! :)
Not only 5 pies but 5 KINDS of pies! That's more than 5 as you gotta figure 2 pumpkin and 2 apple.

CrimsonFox 11-08-2012 07:38 PM

Congrats steve! Hey rpi. What's steve's title? YOu forgot to give him one. Is he Tom Turkey?

I don't know what it says about me if I can consistently channel Stupid fairly well...

Lathum 11-08-2012 10:55 PM

This was an exercise in how stupid likes round numbers.

definitely . I was THIS CLOSE to making my 28 a 30 even though 30 doesn't make much sense.

CrimsonFox 11-08-2012 10:59 PM

(but stupid is a diabetic now)

britrock88 11-08-2012 11:45 PM

This one pushed the limits of roundness.

On Q1, common sense (35), though somewhat round, beat a rounder guess (30) 9 to 5. Some might argue that roundness ($20) beat reality ($25) 10-4 on Q3, but I think $20 might be the true sweet spot there. No argument with 30 as a good answer (roundness notwithstanding) to Q4. 10 (round) clobbered 8 (two families of 4?), and 5 (round, but ???) matched the combined total of the reasonable guesses of 3 and 2.

By my tally, over-roundness notched a clear victory on Q6 and probably won the day on Q5. I'll call Q3 a push, and say Q4 was the best answer in both respects. Common sense's lone victory is 35 over 30 in Q1, but even then, it rounds to a 5, when 34 might be a more realistic max.

All that to say, "I agree with Lathum."

Young Drachma 11-09-2012 10:36 PM

I'm just never gonna be stupid enough. Someday...
