Okay, so I got this great e-mail from Wizards of the Coast, and I don't know if I am supposed to be reading anything between the lines Here is thee e-mail, cut and pasted for your perusal.

awesome. sounds like a great opportunity!

Sounds like they might have some new products coming out or an updated product and maybe it's something like the Pepsi challenge and want to get your feedback, the good, the bad, etc...

I think I'd be thrilled to get that email. What's the concern? It's not like WotC is some shady company.

yeah, they know you write and are looking to maybe generate a little PR. it's definitely a good thing

There are a lot of bigger names in the writing industry is that's true.

Reply and sound them out - it'll be fairly easy to find out if its legit once you start talking ... oh and tell them that your friend Marc will be coming along as well ... ;)

Tell them there is this game called RoboRally that they used to make that needs to be pried from the hands of AH and reprinted the right way.

do you blog about magic and such, Abe? Are you big in the magic community? If so then it's most likely a PR move so you can do their advert work for them. I've been told they do so with bigtime D&D bloggers.

Tell them there is a game designer named Jim Gindin with cool ideas and his new product needs to be looked at.

Yup, i have an itinerary, copy of the receipt and everything. I'd prefer not to publish names and such here.

To be fair, I'm no even close to the one they would choose to give their company good pub. There are at least 100 writers who are more read, more well known, and writer better than I do who would be good choices. Magic writing has tons of sites out there. I wouldn't make a top 50 list with my small audience.

I highly doubt you're the only one who will be there doing this though.
