In all fairness, that guy is ridiculously photogenic.

You need the direct link to the image. If I do a google image search, I click the image I want. On the right is a link for "Full Size Image." Click that. Right click the image, Save As..

Go to imgur.com. Upload the image from your desktop. When that is finished, on the right is a bunch of ways to use the image. Use the "Direct Link" link. Copy that, paste it in the Image tag.

Sounds complicated, takes 30 seconds.

It's the embedded youtube videos that never seem to work for me

I've found that sometimes they show up correctly when you preview a post, but it should work fine when you make the post.
