Solo: Use SP mode or MP?

Reason I ask is I was thinking of running a MP that I'd just use as solo so I could make the trades needed to get draft picks to proper teams.

I'd then set the teams to AI...am I missing anything by doing things this way? Can I still get fired, etc.?
