NFL Division Playoff Round Thread

What a start to this game. 14-7 Ravens five minutes in. Grab your popcorn.

MizzouRah 01-12-2013 03:56 PM

Get Some!!! Let's go RAVENS!

kcchief19 01-12-2013 03:56 PM

Are the Broncos going to learn that Peyton Manning is not necessarily a cold-weather QB? Gumbel and Dierdorf making a big deal of Manning wear gloves on both hands and Flacco no gloves, then Flacco throws a bomb and Manning the pick-6.

That throw by Flacco was one of the best Madden-esque TD passes I've ever seen in real life. Tory Smith had to hit the right trigger to get that ball and catches it in stride at full speed. Beautiful.

Abe Sargent 01-12-2013 03:57 PM

Lol we both saw that there was no thread and made one at the same time

kcchief19 01-12-2013 03:58 PM

LOL! I was surprised there wasn't one. I search the main page and one page back to see if someone started one earlier and I missed it.

Scoobz0202 01-12-2013 04:06 PM

That was a beautiful throw and catch. Niiice

kcchief19 01-12-2013 04:20 PM

I think we all expected this game to end up in the 56-53 range, right?

Desnudo 01-12-2013 04:21 PM

Punting on 4th and 2 :p

Desnudo 01-12-2013 04:29 PM

Denver dodging some bullets

Bailey is getting worked. Flacco just missing.

BillJasper 01-12-2013 04:31 PM

Bailey either needs to be bumping Smith or playing off the ball because Smith is running by him.

Desnudo 01-12-2013 04:37 PM

I think Baltimore will regret missing those two chances

MizzouRah 01-12-2013 04:52 PM

You cannot give Manning the time he's getting.

BillJasper 01-12-2013 05:02 PM

Flacco looks like someone shot his dog.

Desnudo 01-12-2013 05:04 PM

Nice catch!

Abe Sargent 01-12-2013 05:04 PM

What a catch by Smith

Aided by a nifty little push off.

That said they've been letting light contact go on both sides of the ball for both teams. It is almost like they have orders to swallow the whistle and take away the regular season strategy of throwing it up looking for the forty yard PI call.

Abe Sargent 01-12-2013 05:23 PM

Wowowowowowow

Abe Sargent 01-12-2013 05:24 PM

This game is everything last week's games weren;t If it continues this weekend, this may be a great weekend o' football

StLee 01-12-2013 05:25 PM

LSU! LSU! LSU!

Glengoyne 01-12-2013 05:26 PM

Whoa. That is a heck of a game from a guy I don't think I'd heard before.

Between that and Hester picking up a 1st on a 4th and 1 I'm having lovely 2007 flashbacks here.

kcchief19 01-12-2013 05:28 PM

Another kick return by Holliday ... holy cow.

Flacco is making big plays. I heard a Baltimore reporter covering the team on KC radio this week. He said this game and the rest of the post season was going to go a long way toward the Ravens determining whether to resign Flacco long term or franchise him and give him one more year to prove himself. He's made me a believer. He's not going to be Brady, Manning or Rodgers, but he can be on that next tier.

JonInMiddleGA 01-12-2013 05:29 PM

Umm ... I don't think I'd kick to that guy again.

cthomer5000 01-12-2013 05:46 PM

I just wonder in general if Peyton having so much leeway with audibles and stuff over the years hasn't lead to him tending to over-think things come playoff time. I just feel like with the increased pressure he never seems to be at 100% in the playoffs.

Scoobz0202 01-12-2013 06:04 PM

Just what this game needed. Some tuck rule.

Abe Sargent 01-12-2013 06:06 PM

One side has their special teams keeping them in teh game. The other side has Peyton Manning keeping them in theirs.

MizzouRah 01-12-2013 06:07 PM

Duh.. that's who you need to hand it off to.

tucker rocky 01-12-2013 06:15 PM

Surprised Baltimore didn't pull one of these:

I really don't think that is true. I'd look at first downs and total plays and say I think Manning is playing the better game(And Flacco should actually have a huge advantage in both of these with Denver losing two positions to special teams TDs.)

Flacco also benefitted greatly from Smith making Bailey look silly for an entire half and that actually accounts for over half of his total yards. Flacco STILL hasn't hit 200 yards at this point. And how many times did Flacco miss Smith while he was open?

I really don't get all the negative crap Manning gets.

Not seeing that at all.

AlexB 01-12-2013 06:40 PM

I used to think Manning was overrated (thought he was very good, but not as great as he was made out to be). What he has done to transform this Denver side has made me change my mind: to paraphase Adrian Durham - he is all that.

Danny 01-12-2013 06:42 PM

And the int was no a dropped pass on a well thrown ball

mauchow 01-12-2013 06:46 PM

Definitely a fun game. You gotta think the nightcap will be the same.

Desnudo 01-12-2013 06:47 PM

Ravens keep making mental mistakes

He's also doing it with the whitest receiving corp since the 50s. The timberwolves would be proud.

JonInMiddleGA 01-12-2013 07:01 PM

Suburban Rhythm 01-12-2013 07:01 PM
