Laptop Battery Dead....
 

Is this common? As far as I know, it was working fine about an hour ago. Went to start my laptop out of sleep mode, I got lights, etc., but no screen. Took out the battery, left the AC plug in, and it worked fine. Tried it plugged in, with the battery back in, no go. So my laptop is only working, plugged in, without the battery in.

Bad battery the only culprit, for the most part?

I have the same deal. Not sure if the battery won't take charge or if the charger won't get the battery powered up. Since I use my iPad around the house now, I just treat it like a desktop.

OK, thanks. I just didn't want it to mean my laptop's about a goner. I can replace it, but I'd much rather do it later than sooner.

If you're 12-18 months out the battery is probably dead. Depending on which brand it is you might be able to run a diagnostic.

I'm actually about 24 months out, so I ordered a we battery off of amazon.
