Have you ever seen a Helicopter at a baseball game?

I have always wondered this.

Scenario: After being plunked for a 2nd time in the game the batter takes his bat in his right hand, cocks his arm back, and wings his bat at the pitcher end over end, helicopter style.

I have always wondererd why I have never seen this done. If you truly believe that the pitcher was gunning for you why charge the mound when you have a deadly weapon in your hand?

I suspect the spectre of the Roseboro/Marichal incident still looms in the minds of a lot of people, meaning that involving the bat in the incident would probably get you 10 to 40 games of suspension instead of 3-5 like charging the mound.

Does Manny Ramirez still throw a hissy fit anytime someone pitches him inside??

I thought that was Carl Everett...

Honestly, I've kind of forgotten who all the wussies are that get their panties in a bunch when they get pitched inside or, God forbid, get hit. I haven't really watched a game of MLB since 2001. I just seem to remember Manny giving his bad-boy staredown every time.

I remember a few years back Griffey Jr. "accidently" let the bat slip out of his hand and nearly hit the pitcher. I think that it was just after a knock down pitch.

I saw black helicopters at a baseball game once...does that count?:)

Craptacular - it is now everyone in MLB who throws a hissy fit when the ball is even on the inside half of the plate.

I think the prudent thing to do is swing at the next pitch and miss, and "accidently" let go of the bat in the general direction of the pitcher.

but than you would have pitchers like Clemens who throw the bat back at you...

Speaking of Bats, Why hasn't the evolution of the Bat ever been addressed for its contribution to the long ball? Todays bats are light years ahead of yesterdays hand-made bats. How many homeruns would The Babe of hit if he would of had one of todays bats?

Last year I saw "Black Betty" or something like that on ebay and was amazed at how huge the shaft was. In yesteryear bats lasted for years and years. In todays game with the bats mechanically made for "Whipping" most palyers go through a dozen a year.

So, why is it I never hear about the prgress of the bat when they talk about the increase in homeruns in the league. Forget about Steroids, the mound, short fences, small strike zones and blame the bats
