How much difference does height and weight make in the game

Does height and weight factor into the game very much with how the players perform. For instance would a 6'1'' qb have a tendency to have more passes batted down then a 6'5'' qb even if they both have really good passing bars. And would a heavier D-tackle be harder to push off the line and run up the middle against then a lighter D-tackle..etc...etc...

Is there a way to test this? Maybe make 3 QB's with identical stats on everything except height, which can be set at 6'5", 6'1" and 5'9" and put them on the same team with the same game plan and run like 100 seasons with each as a starter and see what the numbers say. If I had time to sit down and do it I would. It would be interesting to put this question to bed definitively if it hasn't already been.

well i can say the 5'9 qb will suck

It might be hard because there are some bars that the game auto-generates that aren't in the file, so can you truly make those QBs identical? I don't remember which of the QB bars if any fall under that category.

I think there are some penalties for players not of ideal height/weight, but it may not be hugely significant. Also, the game isn't designed the handle extremes, which I take it as there's a cap on high heavy the penalties can get.

Some conventional wisdom says shorter QBs throw more INTs. Not sure how true that is.

Don't think height matters much. Jim said it mattered most for QBs I recall. There is 5-10 QB in the v, who is highly rated and he looks plenty awesome enough. Might be a minor consideration but doesn't seem a big deal.

In my experience height matters very little, regardless of position.

That's a bit disappointing. I would have hopped it would have been taken into account for WR's and CB's. So you are saying if I have a 6'3" WR and a 5'9" WR, all else being equal, there are no differences?

If everything else is equal (which is extremely rare,) then the 6'3" guy is the better choice. However, on the list of factors I'm considering when choosing which WR to draft, sign as a FA, start, or trade for, height is almost always completely off the radar. Several other factors matter much more, to the point of rendering height pretty much irrelevant in most decision-making processes.

Would you take Terrell Owens, Plaxico Burress, or Joe Jurevicious over Steve Smith, Santana Moss, or Wes Welker?
