HIV is like that celebrity that you wanted to hate when they first became famous, but as time goes by you eventually find out they're actually kinda cool.

Just to try and balance the hype involved - no they're not using 'HIV' (as in infecting the girl with it) ...

I'm fascinated when things like this go viral. The film was made in 2010, but it's all over Facebook this week. Why did it come back now?

If there's one thing I learned from the global warming thread it is that peer-reviewed science is inherently biased, so I will go on believing that AIDS cured this girl

I believe the original story (since it's been a while) was inactivated parts of HIV. But yes, when people think outside the box, amazing things happen. At the current funding rates (shameless plug) you will see a lot less innovation in science.

This young girl is from my hometown, and I've been following her story since the beginning. She is still in remission, has returned to school, and is living a normal life.
