Your 2013 Black Friday/Cyber Monday Hauls
Thursday Night - Target and Steam
Costume Quest - $2.50 on Steam Beyond: Two Souls - $35 Pacific Rim, Les Miserables, Great Gatsby (new version) blu-ray/digital/ultraviolet/dvd combo (in Les Mis' case on DVD) - $9 each Friday Best Buy Google Chromecast - $30 Sandisk 32 gb Memory Card - $18 (For my mom) Moneyball, Dragonball: Evolution, Office Space Blu-rays - $4 each Fanzz 2 Lakers T-shirts and 2 Lakers hats - $60 total (One of the shirts wasn't on sale but I got it anyway cuz it's one of the most awesome T-shirts I've ever seen, so really it was 2 hats and a T-shirt for $32). There's also an amusing story involving the Bulls version of the same shirt Target (again) Mad Men Season 6 Blu-ray - $10 Hersey's Cordial Cherry Kisses - $10 for 3 bags - not on sale, but a holidays only food item The Rebel Den (My favorite UNLV apparel store) UNLV hat - $15 That's probably going to be the extent of my Black Friday since I'm saving my money, unless there's another Steam game that really jumps out at me. But I always love hearing what other people have done, so I start this thread every year. :) |
I picked up a 360, a PS3 and a Vita with the Gamestop B2G1 (the Vita was free). That takes care of my major shopping.
|
Almost went buckwild in express - everything was 50% off, before I put it all back. Almost bought a dog.
Ended up getting 2 shirts from PacSun for $35, Looper and Man on Fire for $6... total time spent, about 3 hours. It was fun, though. |
I'm not looking to go crazy, but if someone spots a laptop with an i5 and a *dedicated* GPU for ~750 or lower, shoot me a PM. Online only. Already looking at the Lenovos, but seeing if there's any crazy deals today/Monday.
|
A batch of Blu-Rays between $7 and $10 on Amazon, plus that Yahama 673 A/V receiver that was the Gold Box deal yesterday to replace my older one that doesn't support ARC or 3D. We really want Disney Infinity for the 360, but can't find it anywhere at any of the $40 Black Friday deals that were advertised; apparently one Target a few miles away has it for $50, not sure if I'll be able to get over there though.
|
Amazon has some pretty nice wine deals if you're looking to stock up for the holidays and live in a state that has moved on from the 1930s.
Amazon.com: Wine |
Wife said the half-price sale at Old Navy (for the 15 y/o) was a big winner.
|
About to go to Discount Tire to replace a tire we realized was damaged yesterday. That's the only store I'll be going into today...
|
I got hit with an unexpected car repair bill which was pretty large, so I was going to forego any unusual spending. That included buying things related to my reentry into playing keyboards. But, I couldn't pass up this deal on a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface. Usually priced at $149, Amazon has it for $110 minus another $16.50 for whatever promotion they are currently running. Sweet. Looking around for keyboard deals now. Guitar Center has a 15% off coupon through Sunday so maybe I will see what they have.

If you don't mind Toshibas, go to their site and click on the Black Friday banner. They have some deals that fit your requirements. Cheapest one I saw was $599. |
Picked up two years of PS+ membership for half off at Amazon. Just tacked it on to what I have left already.
|
I stocked up on sleep and relaxation.
|
I'll be going to the grocery store. That's...it.
|
32gb flash drive for $12 on amazon (usb 2.0 though)
iphone car mount for $13 big spender! |
bought 40 lbs of hops, and 20 35lb things of cat litter! and I installed 2 new toilets.

I've been doing a bit of this all week. Asleep by midnight, up a little before nine. Deals? A Florida avocado for $2.50, three Hass avocados for $2.50, about a pound of Cajun-flavored boiled peanuts for $3, a pound of pistachios and a half-pound of salted cashews. Oh, and a couple of pewter (?) pendant necklaces for $5. But they were all normal flea market prices. |
Starcraft 2 Wings of Liberty $15

I'm so weak. Updated first post with Friday's takings.
|
Picked up a Garmin Edge 500 (GPS bike computer) from Amazon for £90 - pretty good deal (even if it is an older model that's likely to be discontinued in the near future), as the best price is normally around £140 to £150...
|
On the plus side, all beer was 25% off at the grocery store!

As long as it isn't skunky beer, that's great! |

Snagged my PS4 after waiting in line on Thursday at Wal-Mart. My girlfriend and I went crazy on games and ended up snagging Black Flag, Madden, and Battlefield 4 for me, and NFS Rivals and Skylanders for her during black friday sales. Skylanders was actually a little earlier during a pre Black Friday sale, but the price was a few dollars cheaper than the actual BF sale. Oh, I also ended up with about 15 new Skylander's characters to add to roughly 30 we have from the previous two games. Joy.
|
Oh and for those folks wondering, yes, the Las Vegas Target where the guy got robbed of his TV and shot a few blocks down the road was the Target I went to. I didn't see or hear the shooting, though, as I did a lot of browsing in Target before checking out.

No, just the 500 - I already have a compatible heart rate strap, though, so that's not a problem for me. |
I went into best buy looking for a desktop for my eldest for xmas - all the stuff I saw on sale was on sale for an obvious reason (ie. end of life, obsolete, poor graphics cards etc.) ... as such came home without anything.
First and last time I bother venturing into a store on BlackFriday - really didn't see what the furore was about, sale prices weren't particularly lower than any other sale time and the organisation and crowding were ludicrous ... |
Depends on the store and the item involved. Some have really outrageous deals, like Walmart I think had a $29 tablet and a 69 cent Samsung cellphone.
|
I never leave my house on Black Friday, slick deals is your friend. I didn't want / need any big ticket items this year but I did buy a friend a big screen tv for Christmas / his birthday. Main thing I needed was jackets after my current ones stopped fitting. So happy to get a couple nice ones
|
Nevermind. Wrong thread.

So let me guess the tablet was a cheap chinese import, probably 800x480 resolution and a dodgy Android implementation ... possibly suitable for very young kids who won't realise quite how bad it was?* The phone will obviously tie into a 'plan' of some description or be a pay as you go at extortionate rates? (best buy had some similar 'deals' on ...) *I have a very bad taste in my mouth for these as I've had to patch around some horrendous bugs in OS implementations on them for FMH in the past when a large store decides to hit and run, dumping a load onto the market in the UK (yes I'm looking at you Tesco's ;) ). |
I only bought one thing.... F YOU MARC VAUGHAN!! ;)
|
I wish I wasn't terrified to buy an Insignia TV as a primary TV.
|

I own nothing but Insignia and Visio TV's. Haven't had a single thing go wrong with them. The stigma on those brands is generally unwarranted. |
It's hard to pull the trigger, given so many conflicting reports on quality.
Though a 51" samsung plasma for 429...this interests me. |
This was a pretty good deal if you need anything from REI-Outlet:
30% off any one item. REI-OUTLET: Deals, Discounts & Bargains on Outdoor Gear, Clothing and Equipment for Camping, Cycling, Fitness and More |
Picked up Dragon software for $35 on an Amazon Lightning deal.
|
just got socks. look out, going wild!
|
I ended up ordering a low end Lenovo laptop that was discounted about 35%, and got a digital camera for mom for Christmas from Nikon that was over 50% off.
|
Spa gift card for my sister ($25 for $20)
Braves shirt for me ($7.50) Braves shirt for the wife ($15) 5 Amazon gift cards for my family ($75 for $50) 32" TV for $100 for the spare bedroom Princess books for my daughter ($3.50) HDMI cable for $0.99 and free 2 day shipping. I also traded in my 3 year old blu-ray player to Amazon for $61.50 (only paid $50 for it) and sold my old iPhone 4s for $175 (paid $100 for it). |

Nikon Digital Camera Lenovo G510 Laptop | Entry-Level Laptop | Lenovo (US) links to what I actually got. The laptop was $549 when I got it Friday. I do zero gaming on that machine so the onboard graphics is ok. I dunno crap about cameras, my sister talked to a friend of hers who does who said the camera purchase was a solid one. |
English Food (just 20% discount) from my usual shop in Texas. Was going to buy it anyway, but heck 20% off is always nice.
|
Got a MSI 7870 for $132 after rebate from Newegg.
Nice Infinite cookware set for about $130 from Amazon deal of the day. Looking at Norton 360 on Amazon for $20 but debating if AV is that much better over AVG Free. |
