Best Bad Movie you Enjoyed

Along the lines of our other movie threads, what movies did you enjoy despite them being "lacking" in plot, acting, etc? Generally a bad movie?

I'll throw one out there that I enjoyed when I was a little younger....The Man with One Red Shoe. Not one of Tom Hanks' finest (though it might have been one of Jim Belushi's ;) ), but one I enjoyed.

Schmidty 05-06-2003 12:20 PM

For some unknown reason I really like that cheesy 80's flick, "Some Kind of Wonderful". Pretty embarrassing.

scooper 05-06-2003 12:22 PM

I enjoyed Waterworld. But then I watched it for free from the comfort of my couch. I can see where paying $7 to see it would upset some.

Samdari 05-06-2003 12:23 PM

Coyote Ugly. Terrible, terrible, thoroughly enjoyable.

KWhit 05-06-2003 12:25 PM

I really like Bedazzled.

Hands to the Face 05-06-2003 12:26 PM

"It's a Wonderful Life" is one of my all-time favorites, but I consider it something of a guilty pleasure. It's all cheese and treacle, despite Jimmy Stewart's best efforts to provide his character with a bit more depth than the screenplay allows. Nevertheless, I watch it every year and come away satisfied. . .

SplitPersonality1 05-06-2003 12:26 PM

I been ridiculed for years because of my fondness for...

Howard the Duck

Killer Klowns

The Replacements

God, I'm embarrassed now.

Don't be. This is an AA type thread.

Hi, my name is Sam, and I own The Replacements on DVD.

Marmel 05-06-2003 12:44 PM

I like (and own) both the Replacements and Coyote Ugly. :)

Also, Miss Congeniality.

And, Nothing but Trouble.

Franklinnoble 05-06-2003 12:45 PM

Embrace of the Vampire

I didn't enjoy it so much as I just fast-forwarded through everything but the Alyssa Milano nude scenes.

cuervo72 05-06-2003 12:46 PM

I liked Miss Conginiality. Of course, I also enjoyed Speed and Demolition Man :)

Coffee Warlord 05-06-2003 12:47 PM

A lot of people ripped on it in the Bad Movie section, but dammit, I liked Gone in 60 Seconds.

Killer Klowns is just a classic B movie.

And if you want a realllllllly bad movie (technically speaking, pair of movie) that I kinda like.....

Warlock, and Warlock: Armageddon. Julian Sands rocks, dammit.

Hmm.....that sounds like it could make a good thread - best nude scenes in bad movies, or movies that you watched just for a nude scene :D

albionmoonlight 05-06-2003 12:48 PM

Ghostbusters II

That list could get long...;)

MJ4H 05-06-2003 12:51 PM

The most enjoyable bad movie is very easy for me.

No Retreat, No Surrender

This is the funniest movie (unintentionally) EVER. If you havent seen it, watch it.

Was Demolition Man really that bad?

Eh... nevermind.

Um, yes it could :)

the_meanstrosity 05-06-2003 01:00 PM

Ugh...alright, I'll confess. A Knight's Tale. Shannyn Sossamon makes me all tingly.

Anrhydeddu 05-06-2003 01:01 PM

I guess this is where I have to put up The Mummy. But then again, I don't find that movie any different than Raiders, Indiana Jones 3, Romancing the Stone and other fun action/adventures.

IMetTrentGreen 05-06-2003 01:47 PM

airheads

iceberg414 05-06-2003 01:49 PM

last boyscout

howard the duck

tango and cash

big trouble in little china

cammando

mask

all the puppet master movies( like 7 or 8 of them)

freddy and jason movies

so many more, but....

wudu 05-06-2003 01:52 PM

Lets just look at my ole DVD rack for a looksee...
Riki-O!The story of Ricky
Killer Klownz From Outer Space
What Dreams May Come
4 (count em) movies starring martial arts master Sonny Chiba
3000 Miles to Graceland
Kung Pow! ( great damn movie, dunno why I mention it here )
Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy
Eight Legged Freaks
Chinese Super Ninjas
Tango & Cash

I do have a "good" movie section on the shelf, but those are all my guilty pleasures.

Fritz 05-06-2003 01:53 PM

I love the replacements. might be because I am in the movie (although finding me would be harder than locating waldo in a candy cane warehouse.)

I love howard the duck

I love ishtar

I love frankenhooker

I love police academy 2

I love saving silverman

You were one of the strip club girls who tried out as a cheerleader, weren't you?

scooper 05-06-2003 01:59 PM

That would be one fat dancer.

Were you the Chinese Guy who ate the Eggs? :)

If not, be specific and lets see if we can find you FritZ!

cthomer5000 05-06-2003 02:14 PM

I love Short Circuit 2.

am I less of a man for having said that?

nah, I am just in a crowd scene. I was in Baltimore while they were filming part of the movie. Actually, I may be on the cutting room floor, but I like to think I made the final edit.

Umm, yes.

Is anyone willing to chip in (maybe paypal) to get Fritz some of the help he obviously needs?

sabotai 05-06-2003 03:05 PM

Brain Donors . THE DUMBEST comedy you will ever see, and you will laugh your ass off through the whole thing. I love it despite it not being a "good" movie.

That's the football movie with Gene Hackman as the coach, right? Was that supposed to be a bad movie? I love that movie too! :D I love any movie about a misfit sports team that wins it all. Major League, The Replacements, Unnecessary Roughness, etc. Great stuff. :D

Easy Mac 05-06-2003 03:12 PM

Dude, Where's My Car

The Fast and the Furious

Howard the Duck

Best of Playboy, Part 4

And good god, Coyote Ugly was an exercise in Tedium, I really wanted to shoot myself. Why ruin a perfectly good "Hot girls dancing slutily" movie with a freaking love story? One of the biggest disappointments of my life.

QuikSand 05-06-2003 03:12 PM

I remember a throwaway bit with Alec Baldwin and Jennifer Jason leigh called Miami Blues. Don't know why it stuck with me so... it's not like it was a great film or anything. A few friends found it, and we all watched it several times - got to where we could memorize most of the damned thing.

"Ahh, de speedboat? De speedboat eez veddy expennnsive."

"Well... wrap it up."

Franklinnoble 05-06-2003 03:14 PM

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's memorized dialogue from bad movies.

"Was that C-4?"

"Either that, or one hell of a factory recall."

But it did have the whold hot girls dancing sluttily element, and John Goodman, and that moment at the end, during the release party, where you say to yourself, "why did they put John Goodman in a female country singer outfit? OH MY GOD THAT'S LEANN RIMES!"

Did I mention the "looks like she's 12" Piper Perabo in a thong?

All that's missing here is Keanu Reeves leading these slutty girls past a far superior troop of professional slutty bar dancing girls against all odds.

3ric 05-06-2003 03:20 PM

I have to confess that watching "Hudson Hawk" and "Fifth Element" is a guilty pleasure of mine. Part of me love those childlish, simplistic B-flicks with an A budget.

And, "Speed" is a great movie!

When I'm rich and famous, I'm going to hire a troupe of professional slutty bar dancing girls.

Big Trouble in Little China has to be one of the best terrible movies of all time. Who couldn't love John Carpenter banging away at his Casio keyboard as the "soundtrack?"

I love that movie!!!

Kung Pow Legend of the Fist has some great lines too...

RonnieDobbs 05-06-2003 04:19 PM

Point Break is great too.

Happy Gilmore, although I think most of you probably like it.

Wayne's World.

booradley 05-06-2003 04:34 PM

I believe you're all forgetting Space Camp.

Ksyrup 05-06-2003 04:43 PM

The Cutting Edge - a mid-80's movie that just happened to be released in 1991.

You must be a pro wrestling fan.

Fonzie 05-06-2003 04:48 PM

I derived a somewhat embarrassing pleasure out of some of the "Earnest" movies of the 80's and 90's.

RIP, Jim Varney.

TroyF 05-06-2003 04:51 PM

Howard The Duck
The Last Starfighter
Leprechaun in the Hood "there's going to be some killings if me don't get my schillings" Great line. :) :) Ice-T is even in it. . . so bad it's funny.
