LDT vs RDT

Traditionally in the 43 defense one of the two DT's takes on a double team by the C and G freeing up single blocks across the rest of the DL. Does anyone know which DT the game uses as the NT?

I believe its normally the RDT that takes the double in RL, but I know certain games in the past have used the LDT instead.

Thoughts?

Thanks for the help.

In real life, different types of 43:s run a vastly varying set of gap responsibilities, but they are still to this day mostly one-gap systems with a 1 and a 3 technique that are either or both trying to play what is called a gap and a half. Theres also the flavor-the-month set that at least the Lions run quite reguraliry which has either of the ends (or both) playing a wide nine tech, and the whole d-line is basically playing the run while going for the quarterback.

The thing is, you can have two-gap responsibilities, but who gets double teamed is essentially on the descretion of the o-line in reality. I wouldnt be surprised if the game modelled this mathematically in a way that makes any stud d-linemen a handful for the offense, giving others on the d-line easier dice rolls.

So, to answer your question with a semi-educated guess, i dont think LDT/RDT are handled much differently in-game.
