Multi-player hot seat
Hi, sorry if this has been asked, I've looked and can't find the answer. I recently bought the game for the first time (and really enjoying it!), so much that my friend wants to get involved in a game with me. We both prefer the hot seat games rather than the online aspect of multi player. Is it possible to both play on a PC without having to export and import stages via a FTP server. It seems pointless when we are both sat there at the computer that we have to use a server. Is there a way that we can save the files to a folder on the PC hard drive?
Hope that makes sense. Cheers |
This can be done, but the game isn't really designed to do it, so you'd have to move the files around manually. Basically you'd export your files, then place them in the import directory, import them, then run the stages.

Thanks for that, we've set up a FTP server anyway now so we'll stick with that. Another question quickly. Can you not shop or offer trades with the computer controlled team in multiplayer? It always seems to be greyed out.

You can't shop - the commish has to enter the trades while running the sim. Multiplayer is really intended for 32 humans - the AI is reasonable at maintaining other teams, but things like trades are out.

I thought as much, thank you

My suggestion: play the heck out of the game between you and your friend, then both of you join a mp league. It's not as big of a deal as you may think and the game really does shine that way, especially now when we don't all have the new game figured out.

Yeah that's my plan to join a league. Not sure my mate is committed though.
