PLAYOFF FORMAT

After 10 "regular season" races, the top 10 drivers, as determined by points accumulated during the season, automatically advance to contend for the Sprint Cup championship. These drivers are joined by two "wild card" qualifiers, specifically the two drivers ranked from 11th through 37th in drivers' points who have the most regular-season race wins. The 12 drivers' championship points are reset to a base of 1,000 per driver. Each of the 10 automatic qualifiers receives a bonus of 3 points for each win during the regular season, while the two wild card qualifiers receive no bonus. Every driver then will receive a bonus for their final position after 10 races. Wild card qualifiers receive no bonus.

1st - 20 bonus points
2nd - 18 bonus points
3rd - 16 bonus points
4th - 14 bonus points
5th - 12 bonus points
6th - 10 bonus points
7th - 8 bonus points
8th - 6 bonus points
9th - 4 bonus points
10th - 2 bonus points

Normal scoring applies during the Chase, with race winners earning 43 base points plus 3 bonus points, all drivers who lead a lap earning 1 bonus point, and the driver who leads the most laps earning 1 bonus point in addition to any other points earned.

PROMOTION/RELEGATION

We now have 8 drivers in the Truck Series whose owners do not have a driver in the Cup Series. These drivers are Max Gresham, Connor Root, Chris Kizer, Will Kizer, Jeremy Letto, JR Fitzpatrick, Thomas Carrano and Qwikshot Autotune. frow98 owns the cars of Gresham and Root. The Kizer is the owner of the Kizer brother's cars. Lord Letto owns Jeremy Letto and JR Fitzpatrick's trucks, thmscrrn3 is the owner of Thomas Carrano's truck and Qwikshot is the owner of the #01 driven by Qwikshot Autotune. If any one of these drivers finish in the Top 5 of the Truck Series standings they will be eligible for promotion to the Cup Series. Only one driver for each owner will be eligible this season even if two finish in the top 5.

Any driver that finishes in the bottom 5 of the Cup Series standings will be at risk for demotion. This season, however, we will only allow demotion of drivers whose owner has two cars in the series. If a driver finishes in the bottom 5 but only has one car in the Cup Series they will not be eligible for demotion.

Also, if you have a Truck driver and he finishes in the top 5 of the truck standings, he is eligible to replace one of your Sprint Cup drivers if you wish.

For future reference, past champions of the Cup Series will automatically be exempt from any demotions.

Dexter Jackson Sr. and Ricky Anderson Jr. are ready for Season 2. We've done some work on the cars that will hopefully put us in the playoffs this season.

Might be a dumb request but can those pics be blown up a bit? I cant read the schedule.

Coffee Warlord 05-15-2015 02:54 PM

Btw. It's Magnus Nielsen, not Marcus Nielsen. :)

Thank you. My eyes aren't what they used to be :)

Yep, totally forgot about that, need to make some tweaks. Thanks

Daytona 500 & Season Preview

Daytona, FL - The engines are revving up once again after the crews have spent day and night working on their cars to get ready for Season 2 of the FOFC Sprint Cup Series. All 42 drivers have returned for the second season of the series, and this season the stakes are even higher as the relegation system starts with the bottom 5 drivers in the Sprint Cup Series being as risk for demotion to the Truck Series. 24 up and coming drivers are racing in the Truck Series with the goal of taking over someone's ride in the Cup Series.

So who will it be this season? Can Rob Nielsen and team continue their success and take home title #2? The FOFC Experts have weighed in by picking Nielsen, Bo Duke, Blue Neckansack, Wheely McStephens, and Hawk Grey. But what about drivers like David Ginsberg, who if not for an unfortunate crash at Homestead may have very well been the Season 1 champ. Or could it be someone we're not expecting at all? Maybe a driver that finished back in the bottom half of the standings has finally found a setup that works and will shock the entire FOFC Sprint Cup Series. Drivers like Mike Schaplowsky, Magnus Nielsen, Dicky Woodhouse, Zack Topper, and Kellen Killinger will all get to run full schedules for the first time and are looking to make some noise.

We will venture to three new tracks this season. The first will come in race #2 as we head to Dover, Delaware to race the FedEx 400 at the 1 mile speedway. In race #6 we will head to Dacona, Colorado and the smallest track on the circuit, the 0.375 mile Colorado National Speedway for the Coors 400. And in race #13, part of the playoffs, we head to Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin for the Old Spice 300 at the 1.54 mile road course, Old Spice Speedway.

But it all gets started Daytona. Last year's winner, Stroker Ace, is back to defend his win and will be a strong contender once again. Wallace Bryant, who won at the series' other superspeedway, Talladega, is bound to be a contender as well. If this race is anything like the Truck race was it could be anyone ending up in victory lane.

Whatever happens it's sure to be an exciting season once again. You never quite know what to expect.

cmp 05-19-2015 11:04 AM

And we're off at Daytona. Deacon Palmer grabbed the pole position and will lead them to the green flag. Helen Wheels is 2nd followed Cannon Pace, Mike Schaplowsky and Rex D'Car to round out the top 5 starting spots.

Daytona 500 Qualifying

cmp 05-19-2015 11:10 AM

Three-wide racing throughout early on. It's looking a bit like the Truck race with the lead swapping hands so many times. Currently at lap 10, Nile Kinnick leads followed by Ricky Anderson Jr, Indy Wahl, Kyle Kappe and Zach Topper.

Jacktop 05-19-2015 11:14 AM

Time for a 1-2 finish from Zach and Kellen.

cmp 05-19-2015 11:15 AM

Clean three-wide racing so far. Blue Neckansack leads Cannon Pace, Patrick Hutt, Kellen Killinger and Hana Ginsberg at lap 17. All 42 cars on still with the lead pack. 42nd place currently is Ginny Tonic who is only 1.9 seconds back of the lead.

cmp 05-19-2015 11:21 AM

At lap 25, Patrick Hutt leads followed by Hawk Grey, Stroker Ace, David Ginsberg and Red Neckanback.

cmp 05-19-2015 11:27 AM

Lap 32 finds Nile Kinnick back in the lead followed by Blue Neckansack, Al Cohallik, Comrade Twelve, and Benton Gale. Bo Duke, Lew Sifford, Ricky Anderson Jr, Mustafa Henderson and Zach Topper round out the top 10.

cmp 05-19-2015 11:32 AM

Lap 38. Kinnick still leads. He has looked strong. Bo Duke is 2nd followed by Rob Nielsen, Ricky Anderson Jr. and Deacon Palmer.

cmp 05-19-2015 11:36 AM

Lap 43. Kinnick is finally passed and shuffled back as Benton Gale takes the lead followed by Patrick Hutt, Wallace Bryant, Rob Nielsen and Kinnick. This race is going to be all about setting yourself up for the last few laps. Sitting about 3rd in the bottom line heading into two laps to go seems like a good spot to be.

cmp 05-19-2015 11:40 AM

Lap 50, Benton Gale holds his lead followed by Mike Schaplowsky, Hawk Grey, Patrick Hutt and Blue Neckansack.

cmp 05-19-2015 11:46 AM

Lap 57. Zach Topper leads followed by Hana Ginsberg, Kellen Killinger, Stroker Ace and Benton Gale.

cmp 05-19-2015 11:52 AM

Still not much going on in the way of accidents or even close calls. Clean racing. Constant passing. On lap 64 it's Bo Duke leading followed by Dicky Woodhouse, Kyle Kappe, Hana Ginsberg and Rob Nielsen. All 42 cars are still in the main pack but Comrade Path came dangerously close to losing the draft a few laps ago.

cmp 05-19-2015 12:00 PM

On lap 75 it's Patrick Hutt leading, Hana Ginsberg 2nd, followed by Nile Kinnick, Kyle Kappe and Mustafa Henderson.

cmp 05-19-2015 12:10 PM

Lap 88. Hana Ginsberg leads followed by Bo Duke, Stroker Ace, Hawk Grey and Zach Topper.

cmp 05-19-2015 12:16 PM

Lap 96 has Nile Kinnick back in the lead, followed by Benton Gale, Patrick Hutt, Comrade Path and Wheely McStephens.

cmp 05-19-2015 12:24 PM

First caution of the day on lap 104. Billy Bushinhimer was spun around by Lew Sifford. It looks like neither suffered any real damage.

cmp 05-19-2015 12:26 PM

Hana Ginsberg will lead the back to the green followed by Patrick Hutt, Blue Neckansack, Nile Kinnick and Rob Nielsen.

cmp 05-19-2015 12:32 PM

On lap 117, Nile Kinnick leads followed by Rob Nielsen, Jace Hunter, Red Neckanback and Al Cohallik. Dicky Woodhouse has lost the lead pack and is over 15 seconds back now. Only a caution flag can save him.

cmp 05-19-2015 12:39 PM

Lap 126. Benton Gale leads Indy Wahl, Hana Ginsberg, Red Neckanback and Jace Hunter.

cmp 05-19-2015 12:49 PM

Nile Kinnick leads on lap 140 followed by Indy Wahl, Luke Duke, Chaci Bonaparte and Rex D'Car.

cmp 05-19-2015 01:17 PM

Lap 175. Benton Gale leads Patrick Hutt, Red Neckanback, Comrade Twelve and Wallace Bryant.

cmp 05-19-2015 01:20 PM

Lap 180. Nile Kinnick takes the lead again followed by Stroker Ace, Patrick Hutt, Wallace Bryant and David Ginsberg.

cmp 05-19-2015 01:24 PM

Lap 185. Nile Kinnick leads. Stroker Ace is 2nd as he looks to repeat as Daytona 500 winner. Chaci Bonaparte is 3rd, Helen Wheels 4th and Rex D'Car 5th.

cmp 05-19-2015 01:28 PM

Indy Wahl takes the lead from Kinnick with 11 to go. Wallace Bryant is 2nd, Kinnick 3rd, Anderson Jr 4th and Henderson 5th.

cmp 05-19-2015 01:28 PM

Wahl gets shuffled back right away. Anderson Jr takes the lead. Seamus Archer is 2nd, Comrade Twelve is 3rd.

cmp 05-19-2015 01:29 PM

9 to go. Anderson Jr, Archer, Luke Duke, Hana Ginsberg, Topper.

cmp 05-19-2015 01:30 PM

Hana Ginsberg makes the move to take the lead with 8 to go. Benton Gale and Dexter Jackson Sr. are 2nd and 3rd.

cmp 05-19-2015 01:31 PM

Kinnick is stuck on the outside lane. Despite having the best car all day he may get a terrible finish if he can't get to the bottom.

cmp 05-19-2015 01:32 PM

5 to go. Benton Gale, Hawk Grey and Magnus Nielsen have started a small 3 car breakaway. Can they hold it?

cmp 05-19-2015 01:32 PM

Hawk Grey passes Gale in turn 4 coming to 4 to go.

cmp 05-19-2015 01:34 PM

3 to go. Wallace Bryant makes the move to pass Grey. Grey is 2nd, Comrade Twelve 3rd, Archer 4th and Chilton 5th.

cmp 05-19-2015 01:36 PM

2 laps to go. You have to think the winner is coming from that bottom line.

cmp 05-19-2015 01:39 PM

Final lap. Coming down the backstretch.

cmp 05-19-2015 01:41 PM

Comrade Twelve holds them off to win the Daytona 500!
