Inactive list edits itself
 

The game changes who is inactive/active on me, and it want it to not do that. I have "Coaches change depth chart" to NO and "Coaches change game plan" to YES, and I'd rather keep these settings where they are. I don't want to redo game plans every week, but I don't mind changing depth charts to give promising young players a chance or rest an injured player.

Make sure you're changing these settings in the Single Player if you're playing a single player league or Multi Player options if you're playing in a multiplayer league.

It sounds like this is happening in a Single Player league, so check that option on that screen.

The problem is very likely with an adjacent setting - "Staff automatically signs players to fill roster." Believe it or not, with this set to "on" you also cede the control of your active/inactive decisions to your staff.
