Hot (or Not) Puzzle
Recently I noticed something pretty strange.
Not one but two different recent songs made prominent mention of a specific female celebrity, and did so in a way that made me think "hey, did I miss some kind of cultural consensus that she was the sexiest/hottest/prettiest star of her recent generation?" (A question that, for me, is still unanswered...but worth considering) Anyway... I know there's not a ton of detail there, but I think this is solvable as a FOFC puzzle, basically in its current form. So... given that lead-in... Who's the star? What are the two songs? |
I am not up on the new music.
But if I were to guess at the star, I'd say Jennifer Lawrence. She's definitely the new hotness in Hollywood (or was the last time I checked) and would seem to have enough recognition that you could name drop her in a song and everyone would know who you were talking about. |
Way too easy for a Quik puzzle:
Michelle Pfeiffer Uptown Funk and Riptide |
Isn't there a song out about Uma Thurman.

For your consideration...

This was my thought as well. |
I caught the reference to her in those songs and asked my wife if I had missed something and if there was a reason she was "hot" lately. She didn't have a clue, either...

Beyoncé? Not sure what the specific songs would be, or if that's more of a hip-hop thing, but she seems to transcend genres and she's the rare girl who most guys seem to find attractive that is also beloved by women almost across the board.
(Nicki Minaj is another one that would pop up in plenty of rap songs, but I feel comfortable saying she's more niche hot than anywhere near universal agreement.) Or am I way off base? Is it an actress? |

Let's give Bishop a nice round of applause and politely escort him off the stage. |
It can't just be for looks, so I suspect it's more of a nostalgia shout-out that not only encompasses those looks but key works like Scarface and Dangerous Minds (I suspect those have garnered her some decent street cred over the years which may have elevated her to some sort of "Song-writer radar" status).

Has anybody guessed Rosanna Arquette yet?

Uma Thurman would have been my only guess as well {shrug}
