Just bought FOF7 and reconfigure question

I just bought FOF7 and it installed fine. After it installed though I got a window that asked me to either reconfigure it or exit. I wasn't sure what reconfiguring the game after an install means so I just hit that button. When it looked like it was installing the game a second time though I cancelled it and exited out.

The game works fine but just am curious what reconfiguring it means. Does it just mean it will try to install it again if there was a problem?
