Thorney F.C. Nickname Suggestions

So Thorney FC is my latest FM save, and I asked on their Facebook page if they have a nickname. They responded to me!

We don't have one but happy to throw it out there. Should we have a nickname and if so what should it be?

I was thinking of suggesting Monks or Dukes, given Thorney Abbey (now the Church of St. Mary and St. Botolph) was a monastery, and it's in the team logo for the first, and for the latter, the Dukes of Bedford were responsible for a lot of the town's construction.

What do you guys think?

what tier do they play at?

Looked up Thorney, it's definitely a great little town. Would be a great little trip if you were in the area.

I think those two names seem to fit with the history of the town pretty well. Only other thing I could fit in was the Saxons.

Monks was the first thing I thought of before coming to this thread.

That's my vote.

Dukes of Thorney has a nice ring to it.

edit: Of course after the inevitable sex scandal, the British tabloids are going to feast on headlines about the Dukes of Horny.

Since the team's crest has the abbey on it, Monks seems the best fit.

Peterborough and District Football League - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Apparently they're an 11th division team.

I would go with Friars...Monks, or something of the sorts...
