never played FOF4

Guys tell me the truth, please. Is FOF4 a must have or can I have just as much fun still playing my FOF 2001 career?

If this is a dumb question I apologize. I just haven't had time to play in a long time.

I think that depends on your preferences when playing.

My memories of the exact features in FOF2001 are hazy, to say the least, so I can't give you an exact comparison. In a short-form answer, I would say that if you are very detail oriented, examining the statistics and changing your game plan every week, than you will probably enjoy a lot of the depth that has been added to the playcalling, and the players themselves in FOF4. If, on the other hand, you tend to set your gameplan once at the beginning of the season, or let the computer handle it, and sim through your seasons rather quickly, I think FOF2001 will probably serve you just as well.

I think that is is a big improvment from 2001. The ability so sign decent backups for a reasonable salary was the biggest thing for me.

There are also several other features that I really love. I don't think I could go back to 2001.

I like FOF4 better, but I don't think it's a "must have".

I really like FOF4 better than 2001. I find it the detail let's me get into the game more.

I'll say it again, FOF4 is a must-have in my book. I play it all the time over many other new games I have bought since.

I just wish Jim would get the last patch out sometime soon.

Thanks for the advice.

After further review I have decided to check out Football.net before buying a new football text sim to replace FOF 2001.

I like FOF4 because when you buy it, you get an actual CD... none of that electric license crap.

I think the game is an improvement over previous versions, and worth the money.
