... scared to even click on the Star Wars thread, the movie thread, or go on Facebook at this point?

Not scared. I'd prefer to go in unspoiled, but it won't kill me if I stumble on a detail.

About 27 hours until we see it.

33 for me.

2.5 hours and counting. My friends already saw it in the midnight screening here in Manila roughly 20 hours ago.

And, yes, I am on a self-imposed social media blackout until I see the movie. :)

Yeah, normally I don't worry that much about being spoiled, but for some reason I'm keeping as far away as I can for this one. I didn't even consider myself that big of a Star Wars fan, either.

I figure that there aren't many (if any) more movies like this coming down the pike. Beloved characters from my childhood returning 30 years later, and being played by the original actors. A chance to see the storyline continue, this time with the hope of it not sucking. So I want to go in as spoiler-free as possible.

I just have a feeling that JJ Abrams was the right guy to do this film and that he will not disappoint. He loves his twists and surprises, so I am very excited for it.

Yeah. I hope I'm not setting it up for failure. I expect at least one major original character to die. Really curious to see what is up with Luke.

JJ Abrams is Spielberg, refined and improved for the 21st century. At this point I'm an unabashed fanboy.

There is no way in hell I will get to the movie theater before I know everything. I know this already. I'm resigned to my fate.

To quote another franchise: "No fate but what we make!"

I'm excited about being able to see THE BIG SHORT or another movie this weekend in an empty theater.

I can't help myself and I have been following things for the last few months. If what I have read is true, then I pretty much know the whole movie.

I'm still excited. Can't wait.

Nah, but that's largely 'cause I don't particularly give a shit what happens.

I'll probably see it over the next week or so 'cause my wife just insists but I have more interest & curiosity about any number of video games every year than I do about this.

But with 8x the lens flare!

I'm about to leave work to meet up with some buddies at the bar across from where we'll be seeing the 8:30 showing tonight. I've only seen the original and don't even remember it that well. There's 14 of us going, and we're roughly split between enormous fans and guys like me who are just trying to go see a good movie.

I'm expecting it to be really good even without knowing all the backstory, but I wouldn't penalize the movie if there's stuff I'm not following for those reasons.

Not really... Spoilers don't really ruin movies for me.

So, you can also watch DVR'd sporting events where you know the score, and they're just as exciting as watching it live?
