Who??

Ksyrup 05-14-2003 01:27 PM

HoF basketball player and former pitcher in the White Sox organization.

Anrhydeddu 05-14-2003 01:28 PM

I remembered watching him, along with Willis and Frazier, on the 1969-1970 Knicks. :(

JeeberD 05-14-2003 01:34 PM

Damn Anrhy, you are old...

Marmel 05-14-2003 01:35 PM

Why do you think Anrhy likes the Civil War so much? Because the sucker fought in it!

clintl 05-14-2003 01:39 PM

He was also commissioner of the ABA.

Craptacular 05-14-2003 01:44 PM

Hmm, the Knicks and the White Sox from 40 years ago... no wonder I didn't know of him. I'm not trying to be mean, I just don't understand why this is "breaking news."

Anytime a former star athlete passes away it seems to be breaking news and is tragic. He is a Hall of Famer and member of the NBA's 50 Greatest Players. It would be the same for the death of a NFL Hall of Famer who played for the Packers of the 60s.

Todd

I know him more for his time with the Pistons. He was a player/coach at age 25 or something like that.

cuervo72 05-14-2003 01:49 PM

Wasn't he also a GM or something for the Knicks later on?

Franklinnoble 05-14-2003 02:00 PM

He also invented the 9 volt battery.

Ksyrup 05-14-2003 02:05 PM

No, that was the father of the guy from the Monkees.

Snicker.

Actually, I wasn't that far off with the GM comment:

In 1982 DeBusschere returned to the Knicks and was appointed executive vice president and director of basketball operations. He retained the post until the start of the 1986-87 season.

Anrhydeddu 05-14-2003 02:16 PM

Do you know what the mother of the guy from the Monkees invented?

Artifically manufactured boy-bands that would someday become the scourge of Western Civilzation?

CHEMICAL SOLDIER 05-14-2003 02:21 PM

Yep, White Out.

Ksyrup 05-14-2003 02:52 PM

Yeah, that's what I was getting at. I thought it was the father, though, not the mother. Or maybe it was the Monkee's uncle, har har!
