A long but interesting perspective. Essentially it says that California is 15 years ahead of the US as a predictor of what's to come.

I don't think the Republican party is going away in 15 years.

Neither does the author. Conservative movement of the last 40 years and Republican Party overall are not the same thing.

I don't think either will be "neutralized" in the next 15 years.

Shouldn't be surprising...Georgia, Alabama, Missisippi are 150 years behind the rest of the US.

I already thought, earlier in the week, how nice it'd be if that whole "breaks away from the continent" thing would finally happen.

I don't really have to add much beyond that.

(Seriously, when I saw Utah "only" #46 on the list I looked at who beat them... no surprise to see the New England states other than Rhode Island high, but West Virginia?!? I don't want to speculate too much on it, but that's interesting.)
