Starting 10 (from other spots)
Was waiting for YD to post but I figure I'd throw this up for those who want to be in it.
Got 32 signed up so figured I'd post over here too if anyone wanted in on this Starting 10 [Link to the 2018 Starting 10 contest] 2018 Starting 10 - Reddit - Google Sheets Fun little contest we do on /r/sportsbook every spring. The rules are as follows: 1. You pick a 10 man roster of any 810 players from the NCAA tournament field. 2. You score as many points as each of your drafted players scores in the NCAA tournament. 3. You get a multiplier for the seed of his team. (i.e. if Grant Benzinger of 14th seeded Wright St. scores 24 points, you would earn 336 1st round points.) 4. "First Four"/play-in round games do not count towards the players point total. 5. Deadline is tip-off of the first games on Thursday. 6. There's a multiplier to each round the player scores points in. So the 1st round (of 64) is just x1, each round after adds a x1 so: Round of 32: x2 Sweet 16: x3 Elite 8: x4 Final 4: x5 Championship: x6 So if you have a guy who is a 1 seed who scores 20 points in the sweet 16, it'd be worth 60 points. If he's was on a 2-seed team that'd be 120 points and so forth. If you pick this year's South Carolina and manage to get them to the Final Four? Jackpot. Sindarius Thornwell was worth 2296 points last year as a 7 seed. Justice Jackson scored 405 last year as UNC was a 1 seed. Brandon Goodwin almost equaled that much in one game for Florida Gulf Coast. There is no draft, you just pick a roster of 10 players that you want. Make any changes you want up through the deadline, any edits after that will not be counted. [Link to the 2017 Starting 10 contest](2017 Starting 10 - Reddit - Google Sheets) [Link to the 2016 Starting 10](2016 Starting 10 - Reddit - Google Sheets) Post your lineup here and I'll edit in eventually. |
I thought about doing one, but I'll be traveling during the tournament and also I'm kind of over the NCAA. But I'm glad someone is keeping it going elsewhere. (I might play in this one, too.)

I didn't plan on it but I got hit up by some people to do it again this year. 37 in so far isn't bad in a day and a half. |
Just posted to the /r/ thread under NB88.

Inching my way upward...

One of those guys has the high score from UMBC. He might be enough to carry the team by himself.

My star burned a little too bright this year.

I spent two seconds on my team. It shows.

I think I picked 2 players off five teams in a hurry and then didn't realize I had picked against those teams in my brackets. |
