Here's the spreadsheet:

Top Gun Scoresheet

[Karl, if you see this thread first, you have until ~9:40pm to pick a 10+ player if you don't want to roll with my pick for you.]

NTN had all 6 players in action--got 20+ from Devonte Graham, Keenan Evans, Mike Daum, and Kevin Knox, but lost Daum and Allonzo Trier in the process.

britrock88 03-17-2018 11:24 AM

britrock88 03-17-2018 11:25 AM

My long bet on Azubuike doeesn't look as great with Haas done for the tournament...

britrock88 03-17-2018 11:25 AM

I was going to poke fun at Karl for passing up my designated 10+ from Buffalo... but he picked a 10+ from Marshall. Well played, Karl.

I literally just started clicking on 10+ seeded teams on ESPN.com's bracket and I saw that this Elmore guy averaged over 20 a game...it jumped out at me. I gave no thought to who they were playing, what position this guy played, or anything else. I just got lucky. If they beat WVU, well then I'm over the moon.

britrock88 03-18-2018 02:00 PM

Through Saturday's games:

Code:

tarcone        134        2

britrock88 03-19-2018 11:08 AM

Logan lost two Tar Heels yesterday ( :( ), but he does have a 40-point edge on the field. We'll see if NTN, Karl, I, or B & B can make up ground with our extra players remaining. (I ticked my number back up to 4 because Haas's status sounds a little more day-to-day.)

Logan 03-19-2018 12:44 PM

Stupid UNC. And yeah, that's not holding up.

tarcone 03-19-2018 04:06 PM

Yay! In last and only 2 guys left.

B & B 03-19-2018 04:39 PM

Top Gun rocks

Its hilarious because I have the only 10+ seed guy left (LOYO CHI)

and went anti chalk as much as I could except for the one #1 seed guy I took

he had 2 pts and was somewhat responsible for the first ever #16 seed victory.

LMAO

stevew 03-19-2018 05:10 PM

Well poop

tarcone 03-19-2018 06:51 PM

Looking at my players, I see I have 2 guys that have scored a lot and are on 2 potential final 4 teams.
This may be the comeback of the century

britrock88 03-23-2018 01:44 PM

After Thursday's games (not a lot of Top Gun players in actions):

Code:

                Points        Players Left
Logan          218        2
ntndeacon        187        3
Karlifornia        183        3
BishopMVP        176        1
B & B          167        3
Vince, Pt. II        160        1
britrock88        152        4
tarcone        149        1
stevew          145        1

britrock88 03-24-2018 03:35 PM

Through the Sweet 16...

Code:

                Points        Players Left
Logan          262        2
ntndeacon        233        3
Karlifornia        210        2
B & B          209        1
britrock88        195        3
BishopMVP        192        1
Vince, Pt. II        169        1
tarcone        161        0
stevew          160        1

britrock88 03-26-2018 03:48 PM

Through the Elite 8...

Code:

                Points        Players Left
Logan          309        2
ntndeacon        266        1
Karlifornia        239        1
britrock88        232        2
B & B          216        1
BishopMVP        204        1
Vince, Pt. II        180        1
stevew          172        0
tarcone        161        0

Duke-Kansas featured a whopping 8 players, 4 from each team. Guess who was the indirect beneficiary of Malik Newman's 13-point OT...

It's Logan, who still has Jalen Brunson in play in addition to Newman, and thus a guaranteed representative in the title game.

The rundown for the rest of us:
NTN has DeVonte Graham, Karl has Mo Wagner, I have Donte DiVincenzo and Udoka Azubuike (give me the best team-of-names award), B & B has Clayton Custer (nice!), Bishop has Mikal Bridges, and Vince has Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk.

I don't think there's any catching Logan at this point, but positions 2 through 7 are certainly up for grabs.

I think I have a pretty firm grip on #7 :)

tarcone 03-26-2018 09:33 PM

Yep, this went just like my brackets.

Logan 03-27-2018 07:31 AM

Yeah that was a nice OT!

Logan 03-28-2018 09:20 AM

I think I just reported my first post!

Logan 03-28-2018 11:25 AM

I see there's been a clean up.

Vince, Pt. II 03-28-2018 11:35 AM

That was a pretty convoluted bot - inserting the spam link into a quote of another post.

I feel so used.

britrock88 04-04-2018 11:07 AM

Oh, man, let this slip. Catching up now!

britrock88 04-04-2018 11:11 AM

Where we were after the semifinals:

Code:

                Points        Players Left
Logan          348        1
ntndeacon        289        0
Karlifornia        263        1
britrock88        255        1
B & B          231        0
BishopMVP        214        1
Vince, Pt. II        190        0
stevew          172        0
tarcone        161        0

Malik Newman finishes with 108 points for Logan.

At this point, Logan still had Brunson, Karl still had Wagner, I still had DiVincenzo, and Bishop still had Bridges.

britrock88 04-04-2018 11:17 AM

Aaand after the title game:

Code:

                Points        Players Left
Logan          357        0
ntndeacon        289        0
britrock88        286        0
Karlifornia        279        0
BishopMVP        233        0
B & B          231        0
Vince, Pt. II        190        0
stevew          172        0
tarcone        161        0

I slip ahead of Karl thanks to DiVincenzo's nutso 31 (not that I enjoyed it in real time), but can't quite catch NTN. Bridges' 19 helps Bishop past B & B for a median finish.

Congrats to Logan!

Our all-Top Gun team:
Malik Newman, 108 in 5 games (Logan, 4.6)
Jalen Brunson, 97 in 6 games (Logan, 1.4)
Mikal Bridges, 93 in 6 games (BishopMVP, 1.8)
Donte DiVincenzo, 90 in 6 games (britrock88, 2.8)
Mo Wagner, 90 in 6 games (Karlifornia, 2.7)
Clayton Custer, 61 in 5 games (B & B, 5.9, 10+)

Logan 04-04-2018 12:49 PM

About time I took one of these down. Thanks, as always, for running with this brit.

Of course!

Might be time to do some succession planning, given my forum activity these days. Holler at me if you're interested--it's mostly spreadsheet work/data entry and a few days of being on the forum constantly. :)

I'm happy to help too. This game is a lot easier to score than Starting Ten.

tarcone 04-13-2018 08:43 PM

Jeez, Newman had almost as points as my entire team. I suck at this.
