Offensive Backfield Formation Question
How important is it as far as the Defense getting familiar with your plays, to adjust the backfield formation (I, Pro, Str, etc.) in 1-back formations?
|
From my observations of my own games it seems like as long as you avoid running the exact same play more than twice in a game you can avoid the "The defense looked very familiar with that play" message
|
Seriously? Only twice?

2nd Question. Does anyone mostly remove the 2-RB sets from their Game Plan?

Yeah, unless my team is designed for it. They can be useful in a Spread offense. |
I run like 70-80% of my offense out of the 113. But that's based on personnel mostly. I was actually considering phasing out more 2 back sets from my playbook this offseason.
And yeah I'm pretty sure 2 is the magic number for how many times you can repeat an exact play. But if you're looking for a specific route, or a specific hole that a play goes on the run it's really not that hard to find an abundance of different plays with the same primary route, or a run that goes in the same place. The formation or the formation package just changes. |
113 gets my 5 best skill players on the field at the same time.
