Can't add players to depth chart
 

I'm in the process of testing my historic files and I'm having an issue where I can't add some players to my depth chart. If I drag certain players, nothing happens. I can simulate a game and it will have player unknown in the stat line for the player. I checked the files and none of their ratings seem to be outside the guidelines, so I'm not really sure what is going on. Anyone else had this issue?

Oh gosh. I ran into something like this once, and I don't recall all the details, but it had something to do with what I thought to be "ghost" players like that. I accidentally started the career by assigning players to teams, (meant to start with a draft,) but the team I was controlling didn't have enough in the file (maybe it was with historical QBs and I'd removed them???) Because I'm doing fictional and would never actually assign players to teams, I didn't look into it any further, and it did work fine when I did a draft. But yes, I did specifically run into the "player unknown" in the game, and iirc, I also couldn't put them in the depth chart.

Interesting, I'll have to play around with it. The team I'm looking at has 50 players, but is short at a couple of positions. I might need to run a second pass where it moves players around on the roster to make sure they meet the minimum requirements?

What's interesting is that when I simmed the season they still show up with stats, but the game log has them as RB unknown. It might be worth reporting as a bug, but I'm sure it will be low priority since it's with user files.

I've submitted the details, I'll update if anything comes of it.

I think I had the ID's in the QB file overlapping with ones in the player file. I had been maintaining the increment going forward past the base year, which the game does not require.

Thanks. I didn't report it at the time because it was while I was still deep in the issue of the lack of combines for my draft classes, so I just assumed it was something I was doing wrong. It only happened that one time, and I'd forgotten about it until I saw your post.

Oh, ha. Crosspost. It's possible that happened with me. There was a point where I hadn't realized that I didn't need to provide IDs for QBs beyond year 1.
