Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson - who's going to win?
Simple poll. Fight is this Fri 8pm ET on Netflix.
I'm rooting for Iron Mike just because I'd like to see someone shut down Paul. But know the odds are against Tyson. Quote:

Of course I would love to see Tyson win, but he's just very old. Paul will work the body and wear him down.
I hate that this is going to be the biggest boxing event of the year. |
Both as they e hundred dollar bills falling from their pockets
|
Is this even going to happen? I hear they're investigating Tyson's health. But I'm too lazy and don't care enough to actually google information.

Yes, per my googling today. |
Proud of all my fellow Trout voters.

This is the biggest Netflix cash grab until............the two NFL games on Xmas.
Trash, trash and more fixed trash. Will not watch or gamble on such things as Jerry Springer events. Says quite a bit considering my annual action is seven figures easily. Fraud Paul by KO putting a 20m price on Iron Mikes legacy. Shame. |
Yeah the ads for it sure make it look as legit as wrestling.
|
My kids are excited. And we're gonna watch.
But I want to explain to them that this isn't really boxing. It'd be like your kids' first basketball game being the Harlem Globetrotters. |
Shouldn't have been sanctioned. But money wins in the end in all things.
|
Rooting for you Mikey. Shock the world.
Show them what a Gen X can do! (BTW, don't have sex before the fight) ![]() |
Paul should win but the only other boxer Paul fought, he lost to and it's not like Tommy Fury is much more than an semi-professional fighter. So Tyson still likely comes at him with more skill, speed, and power than Paul has seen in the ring so far. He cries about not being taken seriously as a fighter and continues to schedule circus act fights.
|
Neither of these clowns deserve the time of day. Hopefully they both lose
|
Yeah, definitely fake ... but still fun to look at :)

Dear Mike. Please just wear normal boxing shorts. Or Patriotic Undies. Your choice.
I think I agree with the "I hope they both lose" sentiment. Hard to root for a rapist or a social media influencer. |
On the other hand, it would be somewhat satisfying to see Tyson floor him with one good punch.
|
Watched the 2 undercards just fine but now Netflix is struggling
Just my luck |
They are going to have to figure this out. Not going to get easier with Christmas Day Football and WWE Raw. What a complete fail from Netflix.
|
If this is the best they can do they are the streamer that needs to fail.
|
Good to know it’s not just me
|
How can you not anticipate this if you are Netflix?
|
And you know the NFL is going to be on the phone with them early tomorrow morning explaining what will and will not be acceptable on Christmas.
|
Lots of complaints in r/netflix
Should have done more performance testing & tuning. Don’t need the aggravation. |
I mean the hot dog eating contest went well. Why would this need more bandwidth? —Some Netflix Exec, Probably
|
Sell all your Netflix stock
|
This is the biggest streaming debacle I’ve ever watched.
|
Maybe they should have sent out DVDs of the event.
I've never subscribed to Netflix. Won't start now, but they had to pay a fortune for this. |

I mean, it's going better than that time Tucker Carlson interviewed Elon Musk on Twitter. Netflix needs to use that middle out compression. |
I just went from watching the entrances to more than halfway through the third round. Yay Netflix.
|
I have zero interest in this, but fired it up on my iPad to see. The picture is very rough. It was clear for an instant - when I saw Mike Tyson's bare ass - but the picture is ugly and keeps buffering.
Not great! |
I like that the illegal Streameast stream is just people opening and closing their Netflix trying to get a stream to share.
|
I’m not even getting it. I’m getting a woman’s undercard fight.
|
That’s what I saw, too. Mike Tyson was on screen for a quick pre-fight interview between rounds.

They probably should've given Netflix the Giants-Panthers German game to see if they can manage to not fuck it up. They have Chiefs-Steelers. Their servers haven't got a chance in hell. |
Well, I can definitely say Netflix isn't winning this fight.
|
Isn't Monday Night Raw going to be in Netflix soon? This is rough.
|
What a fiasco
|
Came back up for me, just in time to watch a yawner.
|
Terrible fight. Should have never happened and it's just more reason to not take Paul seriously as a fighter.
Tyson from the waist up is still a dangerous fighter. But his legs and feet are just gone at 58. Paul was absolutely terrified of him the first 2 rounds. |
I'll give Paul credit for understanding, in the heat of the sideshow, that putting Tyson on the canvas would have been a mistake - even if the crowd would have loved it.
But I think he's taken this as far as it's going to go. If he wants to be a serious fighter, he's going to have to face appropriate competition and he's probably too old and too inexperienced to build a real career. He deserves credit for figuring out how to make a lot of money at this, though. |
Don't have Netflix, so I didn't watch the fight. I did just learn who Jake Paul's girlfriend is, and props to him on that.

And try not to beat up or assault any women while you’re at it, Mikey, you massive turd of a human. |
Through all the technicalities and hype, I got one thing from this event. I loved seeing Mike Tyson get into the ring one more time. It was a symbolic show, no doubt, but a nice tip of the cap to one of the most devastating boxers the world has ever seen.

Not even close to over. He hasn’t fought Connor McGregor or Francis Nggannou yet. Floyd Mayweather is out there somewhere too. He also has Tyson Fury’s brother to rematch and could probably record pad with low level heavyweights and/or retired MMA guys between each fight if he wanted to. He’s got years of this left on the table. |

This could have become the moment when it all became an embarrassment. He's gotten good enough to survive the 3-4 minutes when Tyson's raw talent and experience, even at 58, is still dangerous enough to knock out an inexperienced fighter. Once Tyson wore down, it became elder abuse, and Paul's smart enough to know the difference. In order to keep our attention, he has to find a new shtick. He's a great daredevil, but the next step isn't jumping another row of buses. It's either jump an entire canyon or simply jump a shark. One mistake was in getting the fight sanctioned. And it was done in such a way as to highlight the age issue: rounds were shortened, gloves became pillows. So it was real, but it didn't look real. Once Tyson wore down, the illusion was gone. So, either the new shtick is that Paul becomes a real boxer and revives a sport that's pretty much dead. He's got skills and he works hard, but he's already 27. We'd see the Fury rematch then. Or he tries something new, hopefully not WWE, because that wouldn't really be innovation. No more beating MMA guys half his size with limited boxing skills. No more aging boxers. |

+1,000,000 on that last sentence I did a little digging because I wanted to know more than the Pauls other than they are guys who got rich from being a-holes on the internet. From what i can tell, he is setting himself up to move into boxing promotion sooner rather than later. Enough people want to see Paul get his ass kicked to tune into his fights. His goal is to get people to tune into the undercard as well and build up those fighters as well. Not saying it is some sort of altruistic venture. I actually enjoyed what I was able to see of the rest of the card. I went to sleep after the robbery that was the co main event women's match. Boxing judging will never not be horrible. |
Quote:
Jake Paul promoted the event. He’s really been strongly building women’s boxing with his events. When the last scheduled date for Tyson was canceled Jake went ahead and fought on the card anyway to continue to give his group of fighters exposure. It’s why he’s going to continue down this same path. He has life left in freak show fights and even if he doesn’t have a major fight just appearing in the co-main event will greatly increase the exposure for the fighters he promotes. He has no reason to reinvent himself. Everytime he promotes a show he banks massive amounts of money. Dude bros on the internet just keep handing over money to see him get his mouth shut. |
