Franchise tag?
 

How do you apply the franchise tag to a player? When in the screen, I can click on a player, which brings up their player info, but I don't see some box to check or way to "select" a player for the tag. The tag button itself remains greyed out no matter what I do.

I have not played much FOF9, but in this series there's only a certain stage (right before the start of free agency) where the tag may be applied. So, it's not a "where" but a "when" instead, most likely.

What works for me is to not select the player when you're looking at the list, but to hover over the player for a while. Then the "sign as franchise player" button at the top of the list stops being grayed out.

That's the same way extending a coach works.
