It's been a very long time since I was active here (2008 Olympics seems to have been my last post...), but a friend created a site for the 2026 Olympics that re-kindled my text-based sports sim spirit.

He created a simple 'Fantasy Olympics' concept, where you choose countries based on budget, but done it on a sophisticated model that uses world rankings, qualified athletes, cross-correlation, etc to generate the prices for the countries.

If anyone is looking for a fun Olympics themed game or exploration, check out the blog and the site. It's no ads and only monetized for leagues with high users to cover hosting, just a (not so casual) fan's site.
