Welcome to the Canton Memorial Civic Center in beautiful Canton, Ohio for WMC Boxing action!

We have a nice crowd of 2854 on hand for tonight's fights. Our headliner for this month is WMC Chamion Carmen Basilio. Tonight the Champ takes on Ruggero Iasi in a warm up match in preparation of his title defense next month in Austin. That leads us to another interesting bit of information. Last month's battle between Freddie Apostoli and Jimmy Flood left us with no clear challenger to face William Lee. So both of those men will face each other again this month in a rematch. At the same time, Lee will fight Basilio next month in Austin for the title.

Also on tonight's card you will see rising star Charley Joseph. Joseph has won both his initial fights and he will face Jonathan Assous. In the opener, you will see a battle between the two fighters who have yet to register a win in the WMC, Kahlid Ramzi and Stuart Robinson. Two other fights are on the schedule as well. Let's start the show!

Kahlid Ramzi 0-3-0 v. Stuart Robinson 0-3-0

95-94, 95-94 and 96-93 all for Stuart Robinson in a close fight.

Luis Manuel Fabri 1-3-0 v. Albert Ostheim 1-3-0

The ref stops the fight due to the severity of the cuts suffered by Fabri. Ostheim wins by TKO. Ostheim was ahead on two of three cards.

Pierre Langolis 1-1-0(1) v. Gilbert Baptist 2-2-0(1)

Baptist had to deal with a very swollen eye during this fight from some punishement received in the second round. For the most part Langolis did well with the 1-2 from the outside and kept Baptist at bay. 97-93, 96-94, 97-93 all for Pierre Langolis.

Charley Joseph 2-0-0(1) v. Jonathan Assous 2-2-0

Joseph clearly outworked Assous through the entire fight, despite the couple of big punches that Assous landed. Assous showed a strong chin, and the ability to absorb lots of punches, but showed little in the way of offense. 99-90, 100-89, and 97-92 all for Charley Joseph. Another win for the fighter.

Freddy Apostoli 3-1-1(2) v. Jimmy Flood 3-1-1(2)

Apostoli with a strong performance! This will certainly be no tie. Flood was backpedaling from the beginning and there was no sign of the power that kept Apostoli going backward in their first fight. Apostoli put Flood down in the 8th but he was able to get back up. However, the wasn't much fight left in him. It went to the cards and it looked like this. 97-92, 97-92 and 99-90 all for Freddy Apostoli.

Carmen Basilio 4-0-0(3) v. Ruggero Iasi 2-2-1(0)

A good workout for Basilio, he gave the crowd exactly what we were hoping for. Iasi proved to be a game fighter, but took quite a bit of punishment. Each round Basilio seemed to land more and more shots, until Iasi, who never went down, was essentially out on his feet and could do nothing more. The ref stepped in and stopped it in round 8.
