DE's - Definitely a position of strength.
Jevon Kearse is rated 89/89 and is a top notch pass rusher. Very good against the run as well.
Darren Howard is rated 72/72. He is very good at rushing the passer and is slightly above average against the run.
Trent Cole is rated 29/55. He has the potential to be a top quality pass rusher and an average run stopper, but right now he is just a decent pass rusher and a poor run stopper.
Juqua Thomas is rated 29/31 and has skills to be a decent run defender but poor pass rushing abilities.
Jerome McDougle has poor ratings (perhaps due to X-Factor vs his previous injuries.) He is rated 14/29. Some potential as a pass rusher.
DT's - Another position of strength.
Broderick Bunkley is rated 48/77. Poor run stuffing ability right now, but potential to be very good at it eventually. Potential to be a great pass rusher.
Mike Patterson is rated 44/67. Also poor to fair run stopping ability but potential to be a very good run stopper down the road. Also has potential to be a very good pass rusher.
Darwin Walker is rated 43/43. Poor run stopping ability, but good pass rushing ability.
LaJuan Ramsey is rated 17/35. Has potential to be a decent run stopper.
Sam Rayburn is rated 18/26. Has potential to be a decent pass rusher.
MLB:
Jeremiah Trotter is rated 78/78. Very good in every area except M2M defense where he is just average.
Omar Gaither is rated 23/53. Has the potential to be a good run stopping MLB but will never be above fair in pass defense.
SLB:
Dhani Jones is rated 46/46. Above average run stopper, but poor coverage abilities except for bump and run.
Chris Gogong - Big beneficiary of X-Factor (or maybe Head Coach had something right?) Rated 33/65. Has the potential to become very good in all areas and will get plenty of PT soon. Might even win the starting job during the pre-season.
WLB:
Shawn Barber is rated 38/38. Decent run stopper and decent zone coverage skills. Poor M2M coverage skills.
Matt McCoy is rated 28/45. Is barely acceptable in most areas now, but has the potental to become an above average run defender as well as M2M defender.
CB's:
Sheldon Brown is rated 70/70. He has exceptional affinity with secondary leader Michael Lewis. Good run defender, particularly for a corner. Exception Bump and Run and zone coverage skills. Above average M2M coverage skills.
Lito Sheppard is rated 46/58. Above average at zone and Bump and run, but below average in M2M. Looks like this team will be running more bump and run and zone than I usually prefer.
Roderick Hood is rated 27/32, but has a strong conflict with Michael Lewis. That doesn't bode well for his future in Philly. Average at M2M and Zone coverage. Not good at much else.
Joselio Hanson is rated 14/28. Not acceptable in any area right now. Has potential to be a decent Zone defender.
S:
Michael Lewis is young and he is the leader of our secondary. Rated 89/89. Absolutely terrific at run defense and zone coverage. Amazing hands. Excellent at every coverage scheme. He is in the last year of his deal and it won't be cheap to re-sign him. That will be priority #1.
Brian Dawkins is rated 81/81. Is among the best at zone coverage. Very good at all coverage schemes. Excellent hands.
Sean Considine is rated 21/40. Poor defender right now, has the potential to be good at run stopping.
Quintin Mickell is rated 20/34 and mostly has potential as a run defender. Poor coverage abilities.
Dirk Johnson is rated 37/49 and is below average in all areas as a kicker. Will be replaced after his contract expires this year.
