Michael Lewis signs a new 4 year deal worth just under 30 million dollars with the biggest cap hit in the last 2 years. Signing bonus of just over 9 million dollars.
Dawkins is also in the last year of his deal, and we sign him to a new 2 year 9 million dollar deal with a minimal raise this year and a cap figure of 5 million next year.
There aren't any good G's available in FA at this point, so I decide to attempt to trade for a good young RG.
I decide to go after a team who doesn't have much prospect of winning this year, and therefore would be more likely to want a draft pick. I target the Cleveland Browns' Cosey Coleman a 64/64 RG who is only in his 7th year.
Also, he is in the last year of his deal and probably wants a fairly big deal.
They are too concerned about losing a quality player and turn down my offers of a 2nd round and then a 1st round pick.
They turn down a 1st and a 4th as well. Finally, I make a deal by offering my 1st this year and my 2nd round pick in the following draft. They drove a hard bargain.
We immediately sign Coleman to a 4 year 20 million dollar extension with a 6.4 million dollar signing bonus.
That should be the end of our trading for now.
