Author's Note: It was at this point in the dynasty story where I seriously considered quitting and moving onto something else. I hadn't achieved my objective, having made some pretty fatal moves along the way (i.e. taking the 'Bama job considering how crappy they were, some poor recruiting moves, etc.).
So at the time, I put a poll on the Tournament Dreams message forums asking folks what Steve should do next - quit, stick it out, go back to Charleston, take another job, etc. Nearly everyone said keep playing, though some suggested a different school might help. Knowing that I was fully involved in the dynasty, I couldn't stop. Ironically, the next 15 years of Victory's career would be much, much, much better...
