No, he just did it. To be fair, I don't think any of us were online at the time, but he made the play in the main thread first. Only later did he explain himself in our thread.
It made me very uncomfortable for him to do that and I wanted no part of the ploy, so I led a last minute charge to get him voted off.
I have no idea what happened to his idol when he was voted off. I gave mine to a member of Oz the next day when I said I did.
