October 1890 Results

October 6, 1890
MW: Bill Gabig 23-7-2 (11) SD10 Bob Turnball 26-17-0 (11)

Gabig dominated the early rounds, but then Turnball knocked Gabig down in the 5th round and cut him over his right eye. Turnball won many of the rounds from then on out, but Gabig did just enough to edge out a win.

October 13, 1890
WW: WBG Title: Paddy Duffy 32-4-1 (10) UD15 Paddy Sullivan 20-2-1 (6)

October 20, 1890
HW: James Corbett 24-1-1 (7) KO2 Jim Harvey 29-6-1 (13)

Corbett completely dominates and comes up with a 2nd round KO.

October 27, 1890
LW: Joe Heiser 21-15-1 (2) UD10 Jem Carney 26-8-0 (13)

A controversial decision. Both the ringside expert and I agreed that Carney had won the fight by at least 2 rounds, but the 3 judges saw it differently and Heiser gets the unanimous decision win.
