THE STARS OF WORLD CLASS ON TOUR
Monday, Week 2, November 1983
San Antonio, TX. 2,000 SOLD OUT

-Pre-Show Dark Match
Kerry & Kevin Von Erich defeat Al Perez & Barry Orton in 5:12 when Kerry pins Perez. (C). Kerry's performance stood out. After the match, Kerry & Kevin cut a promo, hyping their team. (C+)

-Pre-Show Dark Match
-WWA Heavyweight Championship Match
Ken Mantel defeats Steve Regal in 6:42 by Countout. (C) Regal remains champion.

-The new WCCW TV Champion, Fritz Von Erich, comes to the ring. He says that his steel cage victory over Jim Garvin was especially rewarding to him considering all it took for him to get back to this level. Fritz then officially announces his retirement, and states at this moment, he's vacating the TV title, and officially regaining his position as WCCW commissioner. (B). Fritz says that as commissioner, he's announcing an 8-man tournament to crown a new TV Champion. Participants will be announced in the weeks to come.

-Adrian Adonis defeats Mike Von Erich in 5:07 by pinfall. (C+). After the match, Adonis grabs a mic and mocks Brody, claiming that he outsmarted him last week in Orlando, when Brody fell for Adonis' trap. Adonis says that Brody is out of his league, and that Sheepherder Luke Williams will embarrass him in their 1-on-1 match tonight. (C+)

-Bruiser Brody defeated Luke Williams in 6:48 by pinfall. (D+). Brody's injury took a big toll once again. The two showed poor chemistry. After Brody's victory, Butch Williams & Skandor Akbar hit the ring, attempting to attack Brody, but Brody easily fights them off. (B-)

-Villano III drew with Brad Rheingans in 15:00 when the time limit expired. (B-). After the match, Rheningans tells Villano III that he's accepting Villano's open mask challenge, and that the next time they face off, the world will see Villano's ugly face. (C-)

-Houston Championship Wrestling Star Gino Hernandez entered the ring. He states that last week, David Von Erich was just barely able to retain his titles on TV against him in a 20:00 time limit draw. Gino says that tonight, the time limit is a full 30:00 minutes, and that he probably won't need half that to win David's titles. (B+)

-David Von Erich then comes out and hypes the upcoming match with Gino. (B+)

-WCCW Texas & American Heavyweight Championship Match
David Von Erich drew with Gino Hernandez in 30:00 when the time limit expired. (A+). David makes his 10th defense of the American Heavyweight Title, and 11th defense of his Texas heavyweight title. The two showed great chemistry. The match suffered from a lack of psychology, and the announcing quality wasn't up to the standard of the match.

-After the match, Bob Backlund and Michael Hayes attack a weary David Von Erich. (B-). Backlund and Hayes are then seen arguing as the show ends (B-)

Overall Show Rating: B

THOUGHTS

-Holy Crap! I've run 65 shows in this dynasty before this one, delivering a handful of B+ matches, never able to break the barrier to A-. Tonight, out of nowhere, David and Gino Hernandez deliver an amazing A+ match. They carry the show to a terrific rating, and Texas popularity increases from 65.6% to 65.8%. Gino is a guy I'd obviously love to bring into WCCW full-time, but he's extremely loyal to Paul Boesch and Houston Championship Wrestling, as well as SWCW.

-The Bruiser Brody situation is depressing. He's only under contract for about another month and a half, and he's a shell of himself wrestling under his current injury.

-That was a nice little match between Adonis & Mike. Mike is still only 19. In real-life, he had no chance, but here, we're developing him nicely.

-It's weird to see Kerry & Kevin on the pre-show, but both have been unused on a number of shows lately, so I wanted to give them an easy win.
