End of Season, 2008

The LCS series were Toronto vs Texas and the Cubs versus the Brewers. Milwaukee and Texas advanced to the World Series, with Peregrine Falcon getting his first chance to play for all the marbles. In the end it was a cakewalk as the Texas Rangers won in 4 games to become World Champions!

Peregrine Falcon – Catcher – Texas Rangers

Peregrine finishes the year hitting .295 with 25 home runs and 65 RBI. It was obviously a huge thrill to win the World Series!

Jackson “Fireball” Miller – Pitcher – Cleveland Indians

Fireball finishes up the season with 5 wins and 10 losses, and a 6.90 ERA. He struck out 161 batters and walked 75.

Randy Welburn – Relief Pitcher – Cincinnati Reds

Welburn finished up with a 2-2 record in 59 innings of work for the Reds, with a 6.98 ERA.

Jeff Nights – Second Base – Washington Nationals

Nights remained red-hot to the end of the year, and helped the Nationals make the playoffs, though they lost in the divisional series. He finished with a .321 average, 38 home runs, 109 RBIs, and was named the National League's Most Valuable Player!

FB Pro – Third Base – Milwaukee Brewers

FB Pro finished the season ice-cold, hitting .241 with 17 home runs and 68 RBIs. He definitely wants to improve his hitting next year.

Kyle Wesley – Center Fielder – Kansas City Royals

Wesley finished up hitting .261 with 11 homers and 49 runs knocked in.

Al Mighty – Shortstop – Chicago Cubs

Al had 47 at-bats this year as a pinch hitter and hit .234 with 6 RBI. He played all over the place as a defensive replacement.

Dayne Ho – Shortstop – Oakland Athletics

Dayne looked very good in AA ball this year, finishing at .322 with 10 home runs and 58 RBIs. Dayne is the only one of our players to have his contract expire after this season, so we'll see if he'll be re-signed by Oakland or go somewhere else.

Jamie Moore – 2B/SS - Seattle Mariners

Jamie re-claimed his starting spot near the end of the year, and overall he hit .273 with 15 homers and 47 RBI. He was good in the field at 2B all year.

Deacon Palmer – RF - Chicago Cubs

Deac never saw the big leagues this year, but was a very good player in AAA, hitting for a .298 average with 19 home runs and 98 runs batted in.

Danny Wilson – 1B - Atlanta Braves

Danny was a true utility player for the Braves this year, playing all over the field, everywhere but 1st base in fact. In 121 at-bats he hit .231 with 4 home runs and 16 RBI.

Path Twelve – SP – Milwaukee Brewers

On September 15th, Path got the call to come up to the big club. He was slotted as a reliever and in 7 appearances he got shelled for a 9.00 ERA. He did get the excitement of playing in the World Series though, and the disappointment of losing.

Roger Bailey – SP – Houston Astros

Bailey was consistent this year, but really needs to improve his control. He finished at 5-8 with a 5.13 ERA in AAA.

BB Gunn – Closer - Chicago Cubs

Gunn looked fantastic this year, really honing his game and finishing up with 54 saves and a 2.90 ERA.

Owen Hunter – RP - Houston Astros

Hunter really got his act together late in the season, in 56 innings of work for the Astros he finished with a 3.70 ERA and 1.32 WHIP.
